Delay starting automatic running programs on Windows

One of the golden rules to follow to have a faster computer is to take care of the startup and, precisely, not to overload the initial loading of Windows with many programs or processes that start automatically.
In any Windows optimization guide you will find how to disable unnecessary programs at computer startup.
In addition to this, however, you can also think of delaying the loading of some programs that are running automatically (or Autorun) so as not to slow down the ignition of the PC and the startup of Windows.
It then takes a very famous tool for Windows, Startup Delayer, of which a new version has been released (for Windows 7 Vista and XP) and that allows you to delay the loading of individual elements present (and not removed) when the computer starts. Delaying the automatic start of programs in Windows avoids bottlenecks during system startup (if too many things load simultaneously, memory is not enough and the PC becomes slow).
Windows does not allow you to give priority to loading programs during startup. The thing you can do is change the behavior of the services in Windows 7 and Vista, which can be configured with delayed start.
In fact, by going to the list of services (from the Start menu, write services.msc in Search or Run), for each service you can set a delayed start . This can be done conveniently for all services that are installed by external programs.
For normal programs, however, nothing can be done and an external tool must be used.
Startup Delayer offers a very intuitive and easy-to-use graphical interface where the programs that are automatically started are listed (those inside the Start menu from the Start button - All Programs - Autorun ) and where you can decide which of them should start with a little late .
The consequence will be that the computer turns on, Windows loads faster and becomes immediately available for use; meanwhile, after a few seconds, the other programs in automatic execution are loaded in the background.
After installing Startup Delayer, the list of programs listed in normal startup appears by default. They can be moved with the mouse in the group of those with delayed start or they can be temporarily disabled (to disable them permanently just delete them from the folder of automatic execution). Startup Delayer loads delayed start programs only when the condition set in the program options is met which, by default, is when at least 90% of the CPU is not busy. Programs put into delayed start can be arranged in sequence, in a precise order whereby the second loads only after the first finishes, without ever overlapping.
From the drop-down menu at the top, where the name of your account appears, you can configure the delayed start of programs in automatic execution even of those of other accounts (if there are) registered in Windows.
With a double click on each element of the list, the properties window appears where you can see where the selected program is located on the computer and where to make advanced configurations. You can, for example, set a manual delay and give a precise start time, for example after one minute. You can also decide that the next application is launched only after the present one and never simultaneously. In Advanced you can decide that a program is started automatically some days on and others not.
The free version of Startup Delayer offers two additional features. You can view active processes and then use some kind of task manager to view computer activities and you can look at the list of Windows services. A useful feature is the ability to search for a specific process or service on the Internet (from the right click menu).
Startup Delayer is useful only if you have more than two or even three programs running automatically otherwise it is useless. Its effectiveness depends on the capabilities of the system (in an old and slow PC it will not work miracles, in addition Startup Delayer is added to programs in automatic execution) and on the number of applications. What certainly pleases many of us is that the program is also in Italian and you can change the language in the options.
