Prevent sending messages in Whatsapp groups

Whatsapp groups can sometimes get out of control and lose their useful purpose due to the many messages sent by participants talking about other things.
In some cases, therefore, it can be very useful to prevent members from sending messages, to have their own group where only one or only some can write, leaving others to listen, only to read what is written.
This can be very useful in groups where you can read news or press releases of interest to others, or groups where it is only important to read what those who opened and created the group have to say.
For example, it may be useful to disable the ability to send messages to members in the school communication group, a group of colleagues who must receive the same information or a political organization or any other group with many participants (remember that a Whatsapp group can have up to 256 participants) where it is not necessary for everyone to have their say.
To prevent members from sending messages in a Whatsapp group, you can activate the new option introduced a few days ago on the app for Android and iPhone.
While there is still no possibility to silence individual members, it is possible to make sure that only the administrators of the group are allowed to send messages to others.
The option is found, in group chats, by going to the options menu and then to Group info> Group settings .
Here it becomes possible both to prevent participants from changing the group information, i.e. title, image and description, and also to decide who can send messages .
You can make sure that only the administrators can write to the group and then, with the option that modifies the administrators, possibly assign this right to some and not all.
If everything is left in the default setting, everyone can write to the group as normal.
In the event that an administrator chooses to disable sending messages for other members of the group, they will be notified of this change.
Administrators will be able to restore default settings at any time, blocking sending only temporarily or at certain times.
Perhaps it would have been useful to have been able to selectively decide who can send messages and who cannot, without necessarily making the authorized members administrators, but it may be that this modification will come in the future.
