A problem that can occur on an Android smartphone such as the Samsung Galaxy or the Nexus 5 is that of the synchronization error with one or more Google services . This interruption can prevent the correct functioning of applications such as Gmail, calendar, address book, Chrome and other services listed under the Google account.
Synchronization in fact allows these applications to receive data in the background automatically.
It therefore happens that even if you touch the synchronization button in the push button panel, an icon in the notification bar indicates the error and there seems to be no way to unlock the situation.
Typically this is a temporary error or an account disfiguration that needs checking.
The first and simplest solution is simply to disconnect the phone's data network and reactivate it after a few seconds.
To disconnect the data network, just activate the Airplane mode from the button panel that you can see by swiping with the two fingers on the screen from top to bottom.
If this does not work on the first try, you can try putting Plane, turning off the phone, turning it on and on again.
If there is still a problem in the synchronization you need to reset the Google account, delete it and put it back making sure you are connected to a wifi network.
Deleting the Google account will only lose the data stored, for example on the calendar, after the last successful synchronization.
Then open the Settings and scroll down to the account section.
Touch Google, touch the email address used on the phone and then the options button which in most smartphones is at the top right.
From the options menu, remove the account and tap on OK.
To reset your Google account you must now be connected to a wifi network, go back to Accounts in the general settings and press Add account to add the deleted Google account again.
At this point, synchronization should start smoothly.
