As we have already explained in another article, even if there are ways to keep information online protected, surfing the internet 100% is almost impossible, because everything we do is tracked and no one can guarantee us if independent hackers or governments are in able or not to overcome the current defenses of programs and operating systems. The important thing, however, is to adopt the minimum protection measures, using antivirus, keeping the programs up to date and passwords difficult to remember and locate for anyone.

1) The Firewall
The Firewall is that program which prevents incoming connections to our computer, unless authorized.
In general, the installation of a firewall is considered superfluous because the network security functions are already carried out by the router and because Windows 10, 8 and 7 already integrate a basic firewall inside them.
However, if you do not trust Microsoft and the internal protection of Windows, you could add this level of protection to be sure that even the most hidden spy program cannot transmit information externally or be controlled.

2) MalwareBytes Antimalware
With this program we can make deep scans on the PC looking for any spyware or files that can even be suspected of being able to trace information and data on the computer.
As a scanner, malwarebytes is perhaps the most reliable one, although we have seen in another article other very effective antispyware programs such as Spybot and Spyware Blaster.
3) ADWCleaner
This is the program that kills all malicious add-ons in web browsers, especially adware that aims to secretly collect private information for advertising purposes.
4) Privacy Badger
Privacy Badger is an extension for Firefox and Chrome not to be tracked online by the EFF, the organization that contrasts surveillance programs of all kinds for the protection of privacy on the internet.
This extension works to block the code of some websites that track visitor behavior.
The only problem is that the extension blocks practically everything, so it is also necessary to configure it and activate the exceptions if you want to see some sites correctly.
5) Spydetect
This program is a fairly recent novelty, free of charge, which controls the active processes on the computer in order to locate spyware, keyloggers (keyboard spies) and other spy software.
Unlike other similar tools, Spydetect is free of advertisements, viruses, toolbars and other useless tools that usually accompany this type of program.
Spydetect does not require installation, only to be run in order to check if the PC is being spied on or if it is monitored.
After the scan, in detail you can check the detailed statistics and identify any malicious spyware processes (which, however, we will have to remove manually).
6) CurrPorts
This small program from Microsoft allows you to know the connections that your computer is making with others and on the Internet.
Even if the interface is not really easy to read, just know that each connection reported as established is an open connection and you can check which program keeps it active and which port is used.
In practice it is one of the programs for viewing TCP ports and using the internet on a PC.
7) SmartSniff
SmartSniff is another program, for experts, that provides traffic statistics on TCP / IP connections in real time.
In practice it is possible to check everything that transmits packets over the network on the PC and those received, in order to identify any unauthorized data leaks.
With this tool it is also possible to sniff the PC network and intercept internet traffic and passwords.
