Everyone has to do with pdf files, for work, for study or, simply, because, when looking for something with Google, some results lead to pdf files. At the same time creating a pdf file is an obligatory operation every time you want to share your own document, be it a term paper, a manual, a documentation for a project, an official document and so on.
Most people open and read the pdfs with the standard program or Adobe Acrobat Reader.
In some offices, on the other hand, a lot of money is spent on the Adobe Acrobat Writer which is used to work with PDFs, create them and many other things.
In this article we make a great summary of the best programs to work with pdfs, manage them, create them, modify them and so on, with software suitable for each specific purpose.
For some types of these programs I have already written several articles to which I refer for more details.
1) Split and merge PDF files
PDF Split and Merge is the best program for merging multiple PDF files into a single document.
For example, you can archive one year's invoices as a single document, instead of having them all as individual files.
The use of PDFMerge is simple and intuitive, just know that with "Merge" it unites while with "Split" it separates.
Another program to merge pdf files, insert pages of one file into another, extract or delete single pages, rotate the document and resize it is PDF Rider .
2) To view the pdf files in Gmail it doesn't take any program.
Gmail has incorporated a PDF reader from Google Docs.
This makes it easier to view the attached files without having to download them and open them in a reader application installed on your computer.
You can print the pdf directly from the Google reader and move between pages using the navigation buttons.
From the Google reader you can also select the text and copy it using Ctrl + C.
3) To read pdfs on the internet without using any reader you can use Google Chrome, which supports the opening of PDFs, as well as the Microsoft Edge browser.
4) From Google Docs it is also possible to extract the text from the pdf so that you can edit it.
It is an OCR function also available using other OCR online programs and services that convert PDFs into documents editable with Word.

5) Reorder the pages of the document
Many pdf readers allow you to put the pdf pages in order as you prefer.
A great program for doing this and also for reading, creating and editing files is Nitro PDF .
6) View files quickly with programs other than alternatives to Adobe Reader.
Adobe Reader is a very heavy and slow program that does nothing more than other similar readers can do.
Foxit Reader is one of the recommended pdf programs as an alternative to Adobe Reader .
7) Add arrows and notes
PDF Escape is a free website useful if you need to edit PDFs by adding arrows, notes, text or form fields.
Alternatively, you can use the PDF XChange Viewer program.
8) PDF XChange Viewer is also the best program to insert text in pdf and fill in forms, forms and text boxes .
To write on a pdf and sign it you can go to the FillAnyPDF website.

9) Create PDF quickly
Generate PDF files from anything that can be printed in Windows, you can do it with various programs to create pdf and convert documents including, what I prefer, DoPDF.
DoPDF as well as PDF Creator, add a virtual printer on their PC.
When you want to create a PDF, you just have to choose to print by selecting the one from the 'PDF Creator' or 'Dopdf' program as the printer.
Nothing will come out of your printer, simply will automatically open the pdf of the sheet.
10) Convert PDF to Word documents

11) A program to change the properties of a PDF document I had already mentioned.
On this occasion we also see JPDF Tweak which is very useful for resizing pdfs in case they are too large for printing.
JPDF, described as a Swiss Army knife of PDFs, also serves to merge, divide, rotate (Adobe Reader does it too), reorder pages, compress, encrypt, decrypt and repair files that do not open.
