Who likes the Instagram application because every photo can be applied with a retro filter that makes it become like an old photograph or a polaroid, then you will surely appreciate a free program like XNRetro for Windows PC, for Mac and Linux and for mobile phones iPhone and Android . It is a simple program that does one thing but does it well and quickly, i.e. providing colored filters to be applied to images .
To use XnRetro, after downloading and installing it, just load a photo from your PC and use the toolbar at the bottom to select one of the filters to be applied.
Filters are divided into four categories:
The Retro filter turns the image into one that looks like it was taken with an old or long time ago camera.
The Light filter adds effects of different brightness to the photograph.
Vignette adds borders to photos
Frame finally adds a frame around the photo
The good thing is that you can combine multiple effects together by switching between the tabs until you find a suitable selection of filters.
The application provides some additional parameters on the right of the photo which is previewed.
Filters can be customized using cursors or entering new values.
Preferences include changing brightness, image contrast, red, green, and blue color compensation and opacity.
The reset button, on the other hand, resets all the changes to start over in case of errors.
The toolbar at the top instead has options to enlarge or reduce an image, rotate it, reset all effects or share the photo online.
From the menu command File -> Save you can save the modified image on your computer.
With the File> Share menu, however, you can upload the photo directly to the internet on sites such as Flickr, Imgur, Facebook or TwitPic.
