The best font or character for a Curriculum Vitae?

The first indispensable and necessary tool for those looking for work and have no friendships or knowledge to exploit to find it is the curriculum vitae, that is the summary document that collects all past experiences, studies done and skills possessed.
As you can imagine, the most popular companies that receive hundreds and thousands of CVs make a very quick selection with a judgment, by eye, that is half based on the most evident content and the other half on how the CV is presented .
In this regard, we have seen the rules for presenting an effective CV and the mistakes not to be made .
A recent study has now highlighted a very important technical factor regarding the drafting of a Curriculum Vitae written on the computer with Word or other programs: the font .
as you can also see by opening Microsoft Word, there are many fonts available for writing a document, each good for a particular type of project.
To write the curriculum the best, the most effective, the most readable and the most distinguishable to be taken into consideration is the one called Helvetica (in Word it is Arial ).
As it is written on the Bloomberg website which asked typography experts which font or typeface looks more elegant to present the curriculum vitae.
According to what is however a subjective expert judgment, not based on scientific analysis, the only winner of the match is Helvetica, simple and no-frills, professional, cheerful, honest and confident, very suitable for business documents .
Alternatively, the more experienced can use Garamond, which is a much wider font, which can make the curriculum too many pages.
Garamond is however well legible and easy to follow with the eyes.
About Times New Roman, the default one in Word and, probably, the most used in the world, because of its too much popularity it is not recommended because it is abused.
It should also be noted that using Times New Roman can transmit to whom must select our CV that we have taken the first character made available without making any choice in this regard, thus showing little care.
The fonts that should never be used for a Curriculum Vitae are two:
- The Courier, the typeface of old typewriters, because if we use the computer we cannot present a document that seems written in the 70s.
- Comic Sans, the cartoon character that children like, which should never be used when writing professional documents.
