Since today is April 1st, it is Pesci D'Aprile day and, if you pay attention to some famous sites, you could see announcements or proposals that are so original and curious that, if they were not jokes, they would be sensational and revolutionary news. Everyone loves to make a good joke, less to receive it ...
Since both the less experienced will hardly come across these pages, it could be a good day to propose some funny jokes to do on the computers of friends or work colleagues .
The first and popular joke that you always think of doing is that of the blue screen of the serious error to be put as a screensaver and of which I had already spoken in the post on fake viruses and fake Windows errors.
Now we see more delicious and annoying, simple, harmless and always reversible Windows tricks, which can really drive the victims of the joke crazy, making them spend a bad quarter of an hour.
The only thing to note is that, all these jokes require physical access to someone's computer, preferably without them being present.
1) Automatically open a website window every 5 or 10 minutes .
Even an expert with the computer will struggle to understand why, every 5 minutes, a browser window opens, perhaps with a not very professional site.
For this stupid joke, just create a new scheduled task ( Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Scheduler ), run the wizard and choose the browser file (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox) as executable file, insert the name of the site in the topic box and plan to repeat the operation every 5 minutes.
2) Pretend to install Linux on a Windows PC with a Live CD
This is easy but you have to wait for your work colleague to go home at the end of the day.
You only need to have a live CD with Linux on it, restart the victim's PC and set the boot from the CD on the bios.
Maybe you can even leave a note on your desk that says: Your computer has been upgraded to Linux.
The next morning, this poor colleague will turn on the computer as he always does and you will see Linux load from the cd.
Alternatively, you can arrive the morning before him, turn on the pc with the Linux live cd and enjoy the scene when he puts on the computer.
3) Create a computer shutdown button that has a folder icon .
This is a variation of the same joke made using an Office document icon.
Right click on the screen, new link to shutdown.exe and give a common name.
Press the right button on the new shutdown button and change the icon to the folder icon.
If you want to panic the victim, instead of connecting to shutdown.exe, you can write the following command:
shutdown -s -t 1925000 -c "System error: overload of porn movies"
Before turning off, an error message will be displayed, obviously fake, and after a short time the PC will turn off with a timer
If you are using XP, the effect is dramatic while on Windows 7 or Vista you need to disable UAC and it does not have the same effectiveness.
4) Change the keyboard
If you really want to piss someone off without installing anything, you can change the keyboard layout to the one called DVORAK .
From Control Panel -> Country and Language -> Keyboards -> Change Keyboards -> Add and choose United States Dvorak (removing that normal United States if there is one).
Once this is done, use the drop-down menu to set it as default and hide the language bar at the bottom right if necessary.
5) Connect a mouse or wireless keyboard to the computer of the person to whom you want to play the joke.
This works if the other person has a desktop PC, because you can hide the receiver behind it invisibly.
It basically moves the mouse to another computer, remotely so it can be fun.
The nice thing is that this should work for almost anyone, including people who keep their computers locked all the time.
6) Write a message where the Windows clock appears
You can easily write something on the clock located on the taskbar and most people don't know what can be done and how this can happen.
Just go to Control Panel -> Country and Language -> English (United States) Format -> Additional Settings -> Now and change the AM or PM symbols with what you want what you want.
7) Put funny words or swear words in automatic correction
You can replace a correctly typed word with a different term.
On Word 2007 or 2010, press the Office button -> Options -> Proofing Tools -> AutoCorrect Options and set some words with automatic replacement as you type.
8) Set the mouse pointer with the fixed hourglass (to make the computer seem always busy).
This trick is as simple as it is fun and harmless.
From the Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointers and replace the normal selection with a "busy" icon.
For extra fun, you could make the mouse pointer giant.
9) Activate the high contrast mode (with a hotkey)
There is a really well hidden option in Windows that allows you to activate high contrast, an extremely annoying display mode (dedicated to those who see us badly).
To activate the high contrast just press: Shift + Alt + Stamp
The nice thing is that, even with the computer locked, it is possible to activate a high contrast with the icon in the lower left.
On a Mac OS X, you can press Ctrl + Opt + Cmd + 8 to invert the screen colors.
10) A really harmless but fun joke is to set the Space bar on the keyboard to write the word "SPACE" .
To make this joke you have to create, on your computer, a script with AutoHotkey, which has these two lines of code:
#NoTrayIcon
* Space :: Send, SPACE
Once the script is created, it is saved in the documents and, using the Convert ahk to exe (on the Start menu), it is transformed into an EXE file to be brought and run on the victim's computer.
11) Finally, I remember the most beautiful joke of all, that of the immobile background, of which I spoke in a previous article on computer jokes on the PC
