Optimize the Fire Stick for fast video streaming on TV

The Amazon Fire Stick is a really excellent device that I recommend buying to everyone, not only those who have a TV without applications, but also for those who have a Smart TV, because it offers a management system and a much more comfortable interface.
The internal system of the Fire TV amazon, in fact, is a special version of Android that works very well and allows you to install almost any type of application and game, especially with Amazon Prime Video and Netflix movies and TV series.
The only small flaw of the FireStick is that, from the point of view of hardware resources, it remains rather limited and after a certain period of use it can suffer from slowness which results in delays in video streaming.
In this article, therefore, we will see how to optimize the Amazon Fire TV Stick to speed up the loading of menus and also the streaming of films and videos from applications such as Netflix.
1) Disable automatic application updates, but check that new system updates are always installed.
The Amazon Stick automatically updates the system and applications by default and does so without giving any warning, in the background.
These application updates may slow down the viewing and navigation of menus and applications when the device is installing them.
It might therefore be a good idea to disable automatic updates, without forgetting to manually check for the new version of the system once a week or a month.
The updates in fact add security patches, features and also important optimizations for the speed of the Fire Stick.
To check for system updates go to Settings> Device> Check for updates.
To activate or deactivate the automatic app update, go to Settings> Applications> Appstore> Automatic updates and set it to Off .
2) Disable unused services
The Fire Stick has some integrated Amazon services, including Prime Photos.
If these are not used, deactivating them is certainly convenient to make the device faster.
Then go to Settings> Applications> First photos and disable both the two options.
Then also go to Settings> Applications> GameCircle and disable this too.
3) Turn off notifications
There are some types of notifications on the Fire TV Stick, not very useful and annoying, generated by the installed apps.
To disable notifications, go to Settings> Applications> Appstore> Notifications and turn off .
To disable app notifications on a case by case basis, go to Settings> Preferences> Notification Settings> App Notifications .
4) Disable automatic video and audio playback
By default, when you start the Amazon Fire Stick, a section appears with recommendations for movies or TV shows to watch, which are played in a continuous loop.
Disabling this feature, as well as disturbing less, will significantly reduce the CPU load.
You can do this by going to Settings> Preferences> Recommended content, disabling both the Allow automatic video playback and Allow audio playback options .
5) Deactivate data collection
By default, the Amazon Fire TV Stick collects a significant amount of statistical data on device usage.
Disabling all these settings will improve privacy, also giving other functions more speed.
The options to disable are in Settings> Preferences> Privacy settings .
Then turn off Device usage data, Collect app usage data and Ads based on your interests, always giving the OK to the warning messages.
Next, go to Settings> Preferences> Data Monitoring and disable it.
6) Delete unused apps and data
The point is obvious, any application that is not used should be removed.
In addition to saving memory space, it also eliminates all background processes performed by the app, leaving less load on the CPU.
To uninstall applications, go to Settings> Applications> Manage installed applications .
If desired, you could also use one of the apps to clean Android from unnecessary apps and files, such as Ccleaner.
Finally, it is important that the Fire Stick is powered by the right amount of energy, which may not necessarily be provided by the TV's USB port.
You can then try to connect it to an external power supply, even if it always stays on, it is configured to go into standby after a certain period of use.
