How to scan your PC

Maybe not every day, but let's say that at least once a week or once a month, it is important to do some checks that make us feel more comfortable and that prevent errors from occurring which can compromise the stability and integrity of the system and programs . The frequency of these checks must depend on the time of use of the computer and, above all, on the way you browse and on the quantity of files that are downloaded from the internet. These are mainly security checks that detect not only any dangerous malware, but also small hidden viruses, which perhaps have no visible negative effect but which can share personal data externally or slow down the computer with unnecessary processes.
Below, let's see which free programs to use to scan the PC, which must become a routine, perhaps even to be automated.

1) MalwareBytes Antimalware is the best program to scan your computer for malware and viruses of all kinds, even those that are still unknown and also those most hidden in the system that run away from normal antivirus. This program is free in its scanner only version, which is what interests us for our purpose. The scan is rather quick and thorough, above all very reliable, which does not detect false positives.
The only problem is that in its free version it is not possible to program the scans automatically to be able to do them every day, every week or every month. We must therefore remember, every now and then, to do a check with MalwareBytes.
2) ADWCleaner is the perfect program to use to check that there are no adware or spyware on the PC. While malware executes malicious code on your computer, adware and spyware may not be classified as viruses, but they do spy on our PC by sending usage data to someone like the sites we visit most. Usually these spyware or adware are present in the form of plugins, browser extensions or are inside programs distributed as freeware that are sponsored by someone and include software to collect data for advertising purposes. The scans with ADWCleaner are very fast, so it is worth remembering to do it, at least once a month.
3) Ccleaner is not a program to check for the presence of malicious software, but to clean up your PC of useless and obsolete files, which can be a problem if they accumulate in large quantities. Eliminating the temporary files of Windows and all the programs will eliminate the errors with the important effect of making all the operations more fluid. Ccleaner is not, however, a program to be used every day and not even every month, but at least every 3 if not 6 months. This is because temporary files, for many programs such as web browsers, are important for faster loading of files and resources already loaded in the past, therefore, deleting them often only makes these programs slower.

4) HijackThis is a program that, as explained in the guide, should be used only by the most experienced, which allows you to know everything that is loaded from the PC at startup, including also malicious software and rootkits, which start and then disappear from the memory.
5) Kaspersky System Checker is another program that scans for malware, viruses and other harmful elements that may be present in the PC. This free tool analyzes the installed programs and should be used more often if you regularly install new programs and is perfect for identifying programs to uninstall because they are never used or very large.
Finally, I remember to carry out that routine maintenance work on PC, which must be continuous, a little every day, in order to always keep the appearance of errors very low and, above all, the probability of being affected by virus infections.
