Tablets are all the rage right now and will certainly be the most popular Christmas gift again this year. We had written, some time ago, of tablets as little useful but comfortable and fun technology jewels, and the opinion, in fact, has not changed but has evolved. Even if a tablet is never an indispensable object at home and even if it can never replace a computer, it can be used in several ways, even original, better than you can do with a laptop, be it an iPad, a tablet Android or a Windows 10 tablet such as the Microsoft Surface.

1) A second screen for the PC
If you work a lot on the computer, you can put our beautiful iPad or any other tablet next to the monitor to make it a second screen which is the extension of the first.

You can also keep the tablet independent of the computer, but still turned on next to the monitor, maybe to keep under control the Email, Facebook, Twitter or other apps
2) Use the computer remotely from the tablet
A tablet can become the screen to use your PC thanks to some remote control applications.

3) Read books, ebooks or simply newspapers, also by train or plane
Reading books from the tablet is a classic use, but thanks to some apps available for iPad and Android you can get a multifunction device for every type of reading.
You can read manga and comics with Perfect Viewer on Android and with Comic Flow on iPad, Kindle Reader for eBooks, Pocket for reading after interesting articles and Google News for reading online newspapers.
4) Typewriter for notes
Using a tablet at school or university is really useful for taking notes with flexible and synchronized online apps like Evernote or Google Keep and Microsoft OneNote.
5) A creative tool
Tablets are modern tools for creating music and for making art in general which can then be easily shared, preserved and easily modified at any time.
It is no coincidence that one of the most downloaded apps for iPad is Edjing Mix.
This is just an example and you can find many applications, in the various Stores, to draw, make music and whatever you want.
6) A multimedia device to watch streaming movies
Even if the iPad doesn't support Flash, you can still watch movies on any tablet by getting streaming from your PC.

7) An all-round device for the family
A tablet does not necessarily have to be personal, it can also become an object of the house, always resting on the dining table, ready for use by those who take it in hand, to carry out various operations such as looking for a road, checking the weather, check your mail, send a message, listen to some music. It is faster and easier to use a tablet than to turn on the laptop or desktop PC and get stuck in a chair without being able to move.
8) A portable console for playing games
Tablets such as the iPad or even Google's Nexus 7 are excellent devices for playing video games that have levels of graphics and playability almost comparable to those of consoles.
9) A device for working without distractions
On tablets it is not possible to open more than one application at the same time therefore, when you open the app to work in full screen, there are not many possibilities to be distracted to do anything else unless you change the app. This makes it great for writing and reading without distraction and also turns it into an amazing productivity tool.
Of course, if you want, you can connect a keyboard to the tablet or even transform and use the tablet as a portable PC.
10) Surf the internet or do all that written above, lying on the bed or sofa which is a nice convenience. A laptop cannot certainly be held on the legs and in any case is heavy and unwieldy. On the other hand, a tablet can also be held in one hand and can be used lying down, sitting, with legs up or even when going to the bathroom, without any difficulty.
