The web, the main object of this blog, is navigated from the computer, mobile phone and smartphone, first of all, the Iphone and its cousins who are not phones, IPod Touch and IPad. From the computer there is a wide choice of browser, that is, the program to be used to surf the internet, including Google Chrome, Opera, Internet Explorer and Firefox, to mention only the most popular. the IPhone instead, being an Apple device, comes with a proprietary browser called Safari, certainly very fast but, at times, a bit limited and difficult .
Going to dig in the meanders of the iTunes Store you will discover other browser programs to surf the web from the iPhone / Ipod Touch / Ipad and some useful download managers that can be downloaded for free and that have significant advantages.

There are many, I have tried a dozen on my Ipod Touch, which I could define, in my opinion, better than the others and which make Safari seem almost superfluous, as is Internet Explorer on Windows.
The following applications work on iPhone and iPod Touch and some also on iPad.
1) Onion Browser is a browser for anonymous, simple and no-frills browsing that uses the TOR network.
2) Opera Mini and Opera Mobile is a complete browser that can be used instead of Safari to surf the internet .
Opera Mini is the most used browser on low-end phones and has the particularity of compressing web pages making them less heavy and therefore, in case of subscription plans on consumption, to download less data. You can also choose not to display images, set the font size and view the browser in full screen. On iPhone and iPod Opera Mini offers quick access to favorite sites, incognito browsing, the ability to save web pages and therefore visit them even without a connection, can open an unlimited number of tabs, has text search on the page, you can add different search engines like Google, Wikipedia, Ebay and you can synchronize Opera Mini with normal Opera if used on Windows, Linux or Mac PC.
Personally I was not satisfied because some internet sites look bad.
3) DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser is ideal for incognito browsing, all oriented to the protection of privacy, with the blocking of web trackers, advertisements and intrusive sites. You can protect your browser using Touch ID or Face ID easily there is a quick button to quickly clear the history.
4) Firefox Focus is a free application to surf the internet from iPhone with a tabbed browser that respects privacy and blocks all tracking cookies and other elements. Among the options are private browsing, therefore without saving the history of the sites visited, the possibility of blocking the orientation of the screen and the choice of the font size. In this way you can visit websites without leaving traces in the history, without storing cookies and without it being possible to intercept traffic from the outside (ideal inside company Lan in the office).
5) iLunascape is a perfect browser for changing user agents and simulating internet browsing making the site believe that a PC is used.
6) Download Manager Lite is an application that allows you to surf the internet with a browser and also to download files using your iPod or iPhone .
You can even download files from Megaupload or Rapidhsare and even videos from YouTube to MP4 (using Clipnabber).
It therefore allows, in sites where this is possible, to download pdf, mp3, mp4, doc, xls and so on. The files are placed in a freely browsable folder and, if you download music, you can organize the mp3s in a playlist. Download Manager lite also allows you to send attachments via Email via iPhone, to extract compressed .zip, .rar or tar.gz files, to save websites on the Apple device and to transfer files from IPod to computer.
7) MyMedia, on the other hand, is an application that allows you to retrieve a file's download internet address (URL) from Safari and use it to download.
With these lite versions, a maximum of 10 downloaded files can be kept.
