The Instagram application has received several updates over the past few months, which have enriched the possibilities of those who publish selfies and, above all, those who publish stories, which are a very important part of Instagram, unlike Facebook and Whatsapp where they are not use none. Instagram has made all photographers and not only VIPs can show themselves to fans in their private lives, but even non-famous people can become so or in any case they can create a circle of followers of greater or lesser size that is always nice.
The new features that Instagram has introduced without too many ads and without cluttering the main interface certainly allow you to make your stories and published photos special and unique, differentiating them from those of others.

1) Portrait mode
Portrait mode is new in the Instagram camera and is perfect for taking selfies and face photos.
This mode blurs the background while keeping the face clear, using a bokeh effect typical of DSLR cameras.
The result is that of a very soft portrait photo that works particularly well in case of low light, which fades the edges putting even more emphasis on the face with a clearly superior color reproduction compared to normal photos.
The portrait mode is found together with the other shooting modes on the Instagram camera which are: Normal, Boomerang (the GIF that goes back and forth), Superzoom, Rewind and Type to write only text without putting any photos.
2) Stylized mentions
Another new feature of Instagram are the stickers of the stylized mentions, to draw attention to a friend or another account.
While previously the mentions were written anonymously, they are now more colorful stickers.
To use this function, you must first take the photo and then use the button that adds stickers as you would to add the one of the place, that of the temperature, the time, the hashtag, the survey or various images.
Among these you will also find that of the mention, to put the link to the profile of another Instagram account.
The adhesive also becomes resizable and it is possible to make it large or even small.
The function of the colored mentions is, for now, only on Instagram for iPhone.
3) Use GIF stickers
GIFs can be used to express emotions and moods in Instagram stories or even in photos to be published in a classic way.
AFTER taking the photo, touch the button to add stickers and then the GIF button.
You can then add the moving image above the photo, looking for the most appropriate one in the following screen, among all those available on the Giphy website.
4) Stories and written images
As mentioned in point 1, Instagram now allows you to publish normal stories or posts without having to force a photograph, but simply by writing a text on a colored background.
By opening the Instagram camera, you can scroll through the various modes under the shutter button, finding the one called Type, which allows you to publish an image with writing, with colored text and background.
After writing, you can change the font and then touch the icon with the A in the upper left to stylize the text.
after adding some emoticons, you can publish the maxim of the day for comment to follow.
5) Follow the hashtags
While until recently, you could only follow accounts on Instagram, now you can also follow a specific hashtag.
Then tap on a hashtag under any photo to see public posts and find the button to follow that hashtag, so you can see new updates on your stream.
6) Hide the last time we were online on instagram to others .
When we open Instagram, the other accounts we follow can see the time we were last online.
It is possible to hide this time and therefore not let others know when we were last online by going to your personal profile, then press the button with three dots at the top to go to Settings where you can find the "Show status" option. activity, "to be disabled.
