Launch a program from the Windows login screen

This is a really interesting and very useful trick, which I really recommend everyone to consider not only for its effectiveness, but also because it is easy to use.
To make this trick work, it is only necessary to be administrators of the PC used and, above all, not to have any need of the Accessibility functions, that is those functions that Windows makes available for those who have vision problems or problems using their hands on the keyboard.
If we are in these conditions and if the accessibility is useless, we can make the button that invokes the accessibility options from the login screen in Windows instead invokes something else that can be a program like the Internet Explorer or Firefox or even the command prompt .
If you have never noticed this button, try to restart the computer or log out of the account and note, in the login screen where you need to enter the PC access password, which in the lower right next to the shutdown button, there is no 'is one that when pressed opens accessibility options.
By changing the behavior of this button, you can choose which program to keep ready to be started on the login screen, before even putting the password.
Especially launching the command prompt from the login screen can be useful to always be ready to solve problems and computer problems in case you are unable to log in with your user account.
To use this trick, which works with Windows 7, Vista, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, we need to open the registry key editor.
- Then press the Windows R keys together to open a Run box (also present in the Windows 7 Start menu or in the menu that appears by pressing the right button on the Windows 8 and Windows 10 Start key).
- Run the regedit command and press Enter .
- From the screen that opens, on the left side, open the following folders:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Image File Execution Options
- Right click on Image File Execution Options and create a new key named: utilman.exe
- Select utilman.exe and, on the right side, right click on the blank and create a new string with the name Debugger .
- Double click on Debugger and, in the value data field, specify the path of the chosen program.
For example, if you want to start Internet Explorer from the accessibility button on the login screen, the path to put is
C: \ Program Files \ Internet Explorer \ iexplore.exe
If you want to start the command prompt, just write cmd.exe and this applies to all the Windows accessories that are in the system32 folder, such as the calculator ( calc.exe ) or the notepad ( notepad.exe ).
Whenever we need, we can then open one of Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer or other programs before even entering the password to access the desktop, from the Windows login screen.
Note that the screenshot above I was able to take it using this trick by launching the command prompt in the login screen button and then, from the DOS command window, I launched Firefox first and then the screenshot program to photograph the login screen (otherwise impossible to save as an image).
