If we leave the answering machine on our SIM card active, it will answer every time after a number of rings (usually 5), or if our number is busy or unreachable, inviting the interlocutor to leave a voice message. Answering a cell phone can be useful for those who use the phone a lot for work, but for all other users it is more of a nuisance, since it forces those who send it to spend credit for the call and those who receive the message to pay to listen to it (if there is no subscription plan).
If a person does not answer the phone, it is done much earlier to send him an SMS or message on WhatsApp or try to call after an hour.
In this guide we have collected several procedures to check if the automatic answering machine is active and, if necessary, to deactivate it permanently for all Italian telephone operators.

To deactivate the answering machine on a SIM it is necessary to enter codes into the numeric keypad and press the green handset: in this case, a call will not start but a specific request to deactivate the service, in our case the answering machine .
For each operator there can be various codes (many related to the various no-response scenarios), so let's prepare and use them until we find the right one that deactivates the answering machine.
1) Deactivate TIM answering machine
To deactivate the answering machine on the TIM operator, we can launch the following codes:
- ## 62 # : disables the answering machine when the mobile phone is turned off or unreachable.
- ## 61 # : disable the answering machine when we do not answer incoming calls.
- ## 67 # : disable the answering machine when the line is busy.
- ## 21 # : disable the answering machine for all incoming calls.
- ## 002 # : disable the answering machine for each scenario, with a single code.
To be on the safe side, we can use the last code directly, otherwise we will have to type all the other codes in order to deactivate the answering machine in the various scenarios.
2) Deactivate Vodafone answering machine
To disable the answering machine on Vodafone operator, we can launch the following codes:
- ## 62 # : disables the answering machine when the mobile phone is turned off or unreachable.
- ## 61 # : disable the answering machine when we do not answer incoming calls.
- ## 67 # : disable the answering machine when the line is busy.
- ## 21 # : disable the answering machine for all incoming calls.
- ## 002 # : disable the answering machine for each scenario, with a single code.
The codes are identical to those of TIM, so just run the last one to completely disable the answering machine on our smartphone.
3) Deactivate Wind answering machine
If instead we want to disable the answering machine on the Wind operator, we will have to launch one of the following codes:
- ## 62 # : deactivate the answering machine when the phone is switched off or unreachable.
- ## 61 # : deactivates the answering machine when the incoming calls are not answered.
- ## 67 # : deactivate the answering machine when the line is busy.
- ## 004 # : deactivate the answering machine for each scenario.
Some of the codes are identical to those seen on TIM and Vodafone, while the code is changed in order to completely deactivate the answering machine.
4) Deactivate Three answering machine
To deactivate the answering machine on operator Tre, simply launch one of the codes below:
- ## 62 ** 11 # : disables the answering machine when the phone is off or unreachable.
- ## 61 ** 11 # : disables the answering machine when the incoming calls are not answered.
- ## 67 ** 11 # : disables the answering machine when the line is busy.
- ## 21 ** 11 # : disables the answering machine in all the scenarios illustrated previously.
The codes are very similar to those of the operators seen previously, with the only addition of the code 11.
5) Deactivate answering machine on other operators
If we have a subscription to virtual operators, below we have collected the codes necessary to completely disable the answering machine:
- Fastweb: ## 21 #
- Iliad: ## 002 #
- PosteMobile: ## 21 #
- I have. Mobile: deactivated by default, in case of activation call 192121 .
6) Deactivate answering machine from smartphone
On some Android smartphones and on iPhones we can deactivate the answering machine by accessing the advanced call settings.
For Android let's go to the call management app ( Phone ), open the advanced menu (bottom left or top right) then go to the Call forwarding or Call forwarding settings menu.
In the various scenarios, it is sufficient to set it as an Off option to disable forwarding to the answering machine without having to go crazy among a thousand different codes; the system will automatically synchronize with the SIM, so as to apply our requests also at the operator level.
If instead we have an iPhone, simply open the Settings app, open the Phone menu and then on the Call forwarding menu; in the new window, simply click on the button of the same name to disable forwarding and consequently the answering machine in each scenario.
Finally, we would like to remind you that the notification or message of missed calls when the phone is busy or does not take a charge for TIM, Vodafone and Wind.
Those who have these telephone operators will therefore have to disable the call notification of TIM, Wind and Vodafone to avoid unnecessary expenses.
