IPod: insert and transfer Music and Videos to pc without ITunes

Strange tool the IPod, an ordinary person buys it convinced of having a simple mp3 player in his hands, attaches it to his computer and realizes, the new unwary and naive user, that inserting his mp3 files inside the iPod, it cannot be done by simply moving files as it happens for all common USB sticks and for all other readers.
It is therefore necessary to open the instruction booklet to find out that music can be inserted on the iPod only through its ITunes management software.
So the increasingly unfortunate user, after a day of trying, manages to insert the music on ITunes, but despite himself without being able to understand how to choose them and how to delete some of them from the iPod.
What actually happens is that ITunes scans all the music on your PC and synchronizes the IPod by inserting the music inside it; there is no possibility to delete a certain music, you have to delete them all again and reinsert them.
The owners of Ipod Touch and Iphone that are reading, also skip the sequel of this post because none of the programs are fine, in another article there is written how to import music and videos on these devices, without using Itunes.
Well, to use the IPod, the normal one or the Nano one (not Touch) like any other mp3 player and make the insertion of mp3 and video easy, fast but above all flexible, you have to use Real Player or Winamp and everything will be more simple.
After connecting the iPod (I recommend without using USB extension cables otherwise the computer freezes and nothing works) RealPlayer and Winamp recognize the iPod as a portable device.
With Winamp the procedure becomes very easy because the usual Drag & Drop is enough to transport the music to the iPod; Winamp also recognizes the playlists present in the iPod which are indicated in the right bar and with the right mouse button also gives the possibility to create new ones, therefore you can drag the music present in the personal library (always from Winamp obviously, not with Windows folders) on the iPod playlist.
To make the iPod Touch or iPhone work, you need to download the ml_ipod_plugin plugin and Itunes must be installed.
With Winamp the music transfer is bi-directional and you can also bring the mp3 from the iPod to the pc
With Realplayer instead you have to select one or more music / videos in the Real Player personal library, right click and choose "copy / transfer to the iPod"
I have no practical confirmation but Realplayer and Winamp should replace Itunes also to insert Videos and Music on the iPhone in the same way.
In case you are not convinced, the best alternative programs to iTunes to synchronize Ipod and Iphone are in another article.
New: The free iExplore program presents itself as an interesting alternative to ITunes and all the most famous software, to transfer music and data from the iPod, iPad and iPhone to PC.
It is used to copy and transfer video music and files and it is also possible to carry out the reverse path by transporting data and content from the PC to the iPod or Iphone.
The iPod reads videos in MP4 format and the best way to convert any video, whether it is downloaded from the internet, whether it is from YouTube, which is recorded by mobile phone or is a Divx, is to use some programs to convert Avi videos, Divx or DVD to MP4 for IPod .
In another article you can download the light versions of ITunes, Quicktime and Realplayer.
To bring and transfer files from the iPod to the PC, you can use the Ipod Computer Wizard instead.
