Install Kali Windows, the Linux distro for hackers as an app in Windows 10

Good news for all aspiring hackers, for those who deal with the security of computer networks and for those who want to learn online espionage techniques, because the Kali Linux distribution, the one used by real hackers, because it includes many "hacking tools", ie basic and advanced intrusion and crack tools, you can download it free as an app for Windows 10.
Kali Linux, for those unfamiliar with it, is a very popular, free and open source Linux operating system widely used for penetration tests and hacking . The fact that it is now available as an application for Windows 10 is the consequence of the addition in Windows of the functionality called " Windows subsystem for Linux " (WSL) which allows users to run Linux applications directly on Windows.
We saw how to install this subsystem in the guide to installing the OpenSHH client on Windows
Kali Linux is the latest Linux distribution to be available on the Windows App Store for one-click installation, after OpenSUSE, SUSE Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu on Windows 10 that I talked about some time ago.

If you are using the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) for the first time, you must enable this optional Windows feature before downloading and installing the Kali Linux app.
You must then go to the Control Panel, then in Programs > " Programs and Features "> " Enable or disable Windows features " from the left menu.
Among the various options in the list, select " Windows subsystem for Linux ", press OK and restart the PC when prompted.
The same installation can also be done by opening a Powershell window as an administrator (Powershell is found from the search bar in the Start menu), by running the following command:
Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux
Now you can download Kali Windows from the Microsoft Store .
Once the application starts, the automatic installation of Kali is completed and the console window opens.
you can then create a user with a password by reading the instructions on the screen and then use Kali on the command line, if you know Linux commands.
To find out all you can do with Kali Linux, you can read the official documentation on the Kali.org website.
The video below explains how to enable Kali's desktop environment and install xfce4 which works quite well.

Note that Kali Linux on Windows does not come with already installed hacking or penetration tools and you need to download them from the Kali interface to install them manually. The only drawback is that the PC antivirus, even Windows Defender, may warn of the presence of viruses every time you download a Kali Linux tool.
Especially for those who want to learn, this type of Linux installation inside Windows 10 is really excellent and for those who are curious about how hackers overcome online security systems, Kali Windows is the ideal tool.
