Check Android Box with smartphone

We put an Android TV Box in the living room and we want to control it remotely in the room or from the sofa without having to use the on-screen controls or the inconvenient remote controls provided "> Best Android TV BOX
1) Check the TV Box via TeamViewer
The simplest and easiest method to use the smartphone as a TV Box remote control (even when we are away from home or the TV Box is connected away from us, for example to friends or relatives' homes) is to use TeamViewer.
To use it, download the TeamViewer Host remote control app from the Google Play Store of the Android TV Box, available for free here -> TeamViewer Host .
If the TV Box does not have the Google Play and / or we do not want to log in with the Google account, we can also install the TeamViewer Host APK by downloading it from here -> TeamViewer Host APK .

Once the app indicated on the Android TV Box is installed, start it and log in with the TeamViewer account that we intend to use for remote control; if we don't have an account yet, create a new one using the link here -> New TeamViewer account .
The system will ask for confirmation by email; we follow the link that we will receive via e-mail and confirm the addition of the TV Box to those manageable with TeamViewer.
Now we re-enter the credentials on TeamViewer Host and, after connection, we use the BACK button on the TV Box remote control or the virtual Back button at the bottom of the screen to be able to keep TeamViewer Host in memory even after a restart or shutdown.
To control the TV Box, all we have to do is download the TeamViewer client on a PC or any smartphone, so as to control the TV Box wherever we are.
On PC we can download the latest version of TeamViewer from here -> TeamViewer PC .
To control the TV Box from an Android or Apple smartphone or tablet, we can download the client from here -> TeamViewer for remote control (Android) and TeamViewer: Remote control (iOS).

Whatever the client used, we log in with the same account assigned to the TV Box and, in the list of devices, click or tap on the name of the TV Box (which will appear as active and with a green icon if it is on and connected to Internet).
In a few seconds we will be connected to the TV Box and we will see the entire screen displayed on the TV also on the client, so that we can click and insert text without having to use the remote control.
2) DroidMote remote control (with root)
If our Android TV Box is equipped with root permissions, we can follow another convenient way to control it remotely when it is connected to our network, that is to use DroidMote.
This app offers full support for remote control and, without displaying the screen as on TeamViewer, it manages to emulate the touch of the touch on the screen, the keyboard and the management inputs from any other Android smartphone, which will function exactly like a wireless remote control for the TV Box.
In order to follow this path we will have to log into the Google Play Store on the TV Box and purchase the DroidMote Server app, available for € 2.89 from here -> DroidMote Server .

Once installed on the TV Box, start it and click OK on the TV Box remote control to turn the OFF button in the center of the app into an ON button; during activation we will be asked for root permissions for the app, which we must absolutely confirm in order to use it correctly.
At the end of the activation, click on the three dots at the top right and, in the settings menu, enable the Startup on boot item to start this app automatically every time the TV Box starts.
Now we will have to download the control app to another Android device (connected to the same network where the TV Box is present); the app is called DroidMote Client and is available for free from here -> DroidMote Client .

When the app starts, the search for active DroidMote servers on the network will start after a few seconds; as soon as the server started appears on the TV Box, select it to control it remotely.
The client app offers four screens: the touchpad screen to be able to move the cursor quickly on the TV Box and emulate the mouse keys, the remote control screen with the main and most used keys (including search and voice commands), the multimedia screen with the classic controls (play, pause, forward, back etc.) and the video games screen, where we can find keys specially configured for games.
In all the screens you can call up the keyboard of the smartphone or tablet and use it to insert links or text in any app or screen of the TV Box, without having to use the uncomfortable screen keyboard (very inconvenient to use).
3) Control the Fire TV from the smartphone
Amazon's Fire TV Stick can be controlled from your mobile phone using the official Fire TV app, for Android or iPhone, very convenient and simple to use.
4) CetusPlay for TV Box and Fire TV
The CetusPlay app is an alternative app that works with many TV Box models and also with the Fire TV Stick, to control them from the smartphone that turns into a game controller, mouse and full keyboard.
It therefore becomes perfect for playing as well as for browsing websites from the TV browser.
5) Conclusions
Currently these are the safest and most tested methods to be able to control a Chinese TV Box with Android operating system in a simple and convenient way, without having to depend on the supplied remote control (actually inconvenient to use on many occasions).
With TeamViewer we have offered you a free and very effective method, which also shows the same screen displayed on TV as if it were on a mirror; with DroidMote instead we offered you a very advanced control app that simulates every gesture on the TV Box without necessarily having to show the display screen, using root permissions for the purpose.
Although this app is provided for a fee, we recommend everyone to buy it if we have a TV Box seen how well it works.
If we don't want to use apps but real remote controls with a keyboard to buy, we recommend focusing on one of the following models:
- Sar Backlit remote control with mini wireless keyboard (13 €)
- GHB Air Mouse Android remote control (16 €)
- LinStar Remote Control, 2.4 G Wireless Air Mouse Motion (17 €)
- H1 backlit Air mouse touchpad tastera (17 €)
6) Kodi
To use the smartphone as a Kodi remote we have already seen another guide.
