How to Convert PDF to JPG Images

It may happen that you have to send a PDF document, via email or through a website, but that it is too large to send, forcing you to find other ways to get the document delivered.
For example, in many public administration sites or in all sites where scanned forms and documents must be sent, the problem of an excessively large file may arise.
The options to solve the problem are two: first of all you have to try with the PDF file compression programs (of which I have already spoken), to try to reduce the file size.
If compression isn't enough, the easiest solution is to convert PDF to JPG images, which is the lightest format and is compatible with any operating system.
In practice, the pages of the PDF document are transformed into a series of images, to be subsequently inserted in a ZIP or RAR archive to be sent to the recipient.
So let's see how to convert PDF to JPG using dedicated sites and programs.

To convert a PDF to JPG we have several possibilities that we can take advantage of; both online sites and programs to be used on the PC are available, so as to convert even without an Internet connection (useful in the case of confidential documents that we absolutely do not want to upload online).
On PC with Windows installed we can either install one of the programs mentioned or use the websites; if we have a Mac or a PC with Linux we can preferentially use the websites or LibreOffice to carry out the conversion.
1) PDF2JPG.net (Web)
The fastest way is by opening the PDF2JPG.net website, reachable here -> PDF2JPG.net .

With this site you can upload a PDF file of maximum 25MB and it will automatically be transformed into a series of images that can be downloaded individually or all together as a zip archive.
We click on Choose a PDF file, we load the PDF files from the computer and then we choose the quality of the images.
If you want maximum compression, you can choose 75 DPI "Poor" quality which will then be checked carefully to see if the document remains legible and if any images do not remain too degraded.
At the end, we press the Convert button and wait for the end of the conversion process, with which the images will be created and downloaded.
2) DocuFreezer (Windows)
DocuFreezer is an excellent free program for non-commercial use and without limitations and restrictions that can be used to convert PDF to JPG without problems.
The program can be downloaded for Windows from here -> DocuFreezer .

Its batch processing tool is capable of managing entire folders of documents or images at once.
To use it, simply load the files or folders with the PDFs to be converted, select the JPG item in the Output file type and then click on the top right on Start, so as to start the conversion process in the folder indicated in the Output folder ( basically the System Documents folder is provided as output where to save the files).
3) Smallpdf (Web)
Another site that we can use to convert any PDF documents into JPG images without using any program is Smallpdf, which among its many functions also offers this type of conversion; the specific page is available here -> Smallpdf .

To use this website, simply load the PDF files by dragging them into the Drag the PDF here box or alternatively by clicking on the Choose file button to start the manager and access the path where the documents to be converted are saved.
Once loaded, just wait for the conversion to immediately download the JPG images of the PDF document.
On this site we can also upload PDF documents present in the Dropbox or Google Drive clouds, so as to also convert shared or saved documents online.
4) PDF to JPG (Windows)
If we are looking for another program to do the PDF to JPG conversion we can use PDF to JPG, a free program for Windows PC that can be downloaded for free from here -> PDF to JPG .

PDFs can be converted to JPG or other image formats (TIF, BMP, PNG, GIF).
Easy to use, to convert the PDF just drag and drop the files on the interface or use the plus-shaped button at the top left to load all the files to be converted. Make sure to select JPG as output then click on the bottom right on Start converting now to start the conversion process.
In the options you can specify DPI or the quality of the images to compress the file or keep it of good quality at the larger price.
5) PDF-XChange Editor (Windows)
PDF-XChange Editor is a popular program to open PDFs which allows you to save PDF to JPG in the options; we can download the program for free with some limitations from here -> PDF-XChange Editor .

Once installed on the PC, simply open the PDF that we intend to convert, open the top Convert menu and select the Export images item .
A new window will open where we can choose which pages to convert to images; in Image type, just select JPEG and press OK on the bottom to start the conversion process into images, which will be saved in the folder set in the window (basically the Documents folder).
6) PDFCreator (Windows)
PDFCreator, a program mentioned among virtual printers to create PDF, also allows you to "print" any document in JPG images; we can download it for free from here -> PDFCreator .

Once added this virtual printer to the PC with Windows we can use any type of PDF viewer (also Adobe Acrobat Reader ), click on the Print button (also present in the File menu at the top left), choose PDFCreator as printer and, in the window that will open, choose as a JPEG profile, so as to save all the pages of the PDF as JPG images in the indicated path (basically all the Documents are saved).
7) LibreOffice (Windows, Linux and Mac)
The LibreOffice office suite also allows you to convert PDF documents to JPG using the features offered by the Draw program; we can download LibreOffice for free for any PC (with Windows or Linux) or for Mac using the link here -> LibreOffice .

To use the suite, all we have to do is open the PDF document with it, by clicking on Open file and selecting the PDF file to convert; the LibreOffice Draw program will automatically open, with all the pages of the PDF treated as if they were slides.
Now we can convert from PDF to JPG by clicking on the top left on File -> Export and selecting in the window that will appear the JPEG format in the Save as field.
Now click on Save to convert the PDF document into JPG images in the path we have indicated.
In another article we saw how to save and extract the images present in the PDF document; if we are interested we can read the dedicated article Save and extract images from a PDF document.
