How to set up a proxy on Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox

Who works with the laptop knows well that in every company or office where he goes he must set up a proxy server to surf the internet.
The proxy is a computer that you have to go through to surf the internet.
It is used by all companies to filter navigable internet sites and have some control over the use made of the internet within the network.
Proxies can also be used from your home computer to connect to the internet in order to disguise your identity and make it appear to the website you are connecting to that we are in another country.
This is very useful for surfing the internet anonymously or overcoming national restrictions, censorships and visiting blocked sites.
You can then set up an American proxy to visit sites visible only in the USA or to mask your connection and browse hidden behind the proxy.
Knowing how to change and how to set up a proxy is also important to eliminate the effects of those viruses that fraudulently set one, to steal data or spy on browsing data.
In this guide we see how to set up a proxy server in all major browsers for Windows PCs: Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Firefox .
IMPORTANT NOTE: In many cases, changing DNS can be enough to get around the blocks of censored or blocked or obscured sites .
1) Setting up a proxy server in Internet Explorer also means setting it up for all PC programs .
For example, other browsers such as Chrome and Opera use Internet Explorer settings and so "modern" applications for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 also use the same settings.
Start Internet Explorer, open the Tools menu (keyboard shortcut: Alt + X) and click on Internet Options .
In the window go to the Connections tab and press the LAN Settings button.
The proxy server must be written here, as an IP address or as a URL.
To set it as a URL, check the " Use automatic configuration script " box and then type in the URL of the proxy server.
To use a proxy server with an IP address and a specific port, put the key on " Use a proxy server for LAN connections ".
On a corporate network, you may also need to check the "Ignore proxy server for local addresses" box, so that the proxy is not used when accessing internal web sites and network services and only works when browsing the Internet.
After configuration, click OK to save the changes.
2) In Firefox you can set the proxy by pressing the button on the top left and then entering the Options.
Go to Advanced, then to Network and Connection Settings .
Here you can set or change the Proxy to navigate with Firefox, with numerous customization options:
- No Proxy
- " Automatically detect proxy settings for this network " is an automatic way and Firefox tries to detect if you need to connect to a proxy to use the Internet.
- " Use system proxy settings " tells Firefox to use the same proxy settings as Internet Explorer.
- " Manually configure proxies " to type in the IP address and port of the proxy you want to use.
Unlike other browsers, Firefox allows you to set different proxy servers and ports for different types of HTTP, SSL, FTP traffic and so on.
some sites can also be marked as exceptions.
With the option " Automatic proxy configuration URL " you can specify a proxy via the Internet address
To save the settings, click OK.
3) Google Chrome
Google Chrome doesn't have the options to set up a proxy server because it uses Internet Explorer settings.
These options can be opened in Chrome by pressing the button at the top right, going to Settings, advanced settings and under " Network " press the " change proxy settings " button.
You can also set up a proxy on Chrome without changing Internet Explorer settings, using the SwitchyOmega Proxy extension
Those who often need to change network settings and save different configurations and proxies can install a program on the PC to save network profiles and change ip dns and proxies quickly .
