Screen saver settings in Windows 10 and 7

Screensavers are a historical feature of PCs, since the advent of Windows 95, searched by everyone and then went a little to disappear, especially after realizing that, beyond an aesthetic factor, they had no real use (with LDC monitors).
So here, while in Windows 7 the screensavers are still easy to configure, in Windows 10 the activation of the screen saver or access to the settings of the screen saver has been hidden.
The classic Screen Customization window (from which you can access the screen saver settings dialog in Windows 7) has been removed from Windows 10 and the new Settings screen does not include options to enable the screen saver settings.
The screen savers are then deactivated, by default, in Windows 10 and if you leave the PC idle for a few minutes, depending on how the energy saving options have been configured, the screen will simply turn off.
As mentioned, screen savers are not essential on modern computers, but most users are used to seeing a screen saver when the computer has been idle for some time.
Below we then see how to activate the screensaver in Windows 10 and how to find all the settings, even hidden, of the screensavers included in Windows (7, 8 and 10) .
Windows 10 includes all the screen savers that were also part of Windows 8 / 8.1 and Windows 7 and therefore: 3D text, bubbles, photos, ribbons, three-dimensional polygons, photo collection, black screen .
To activate them, press the right mouse button on the desktop, then go to Personalize to open the Personalization category in the Settings app.
Then press on the Lock screen section and find, on the right side, the link to the Screen Saver Settings to open the classic window to choose the screen saver.
In Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, on the other hand, the Screen saver options are immediately accessible from the clearly visible button on the Screen Customization screen .
If they are not found, you can search for " screen savers " in the Start menu.
For each of the selected screen savers, you can press the Settings button to customize it.
For example, the screen saver of 3D text can be modified as you want to see an inscription move on the screen.
You can then preview the screen saver before applying it and decide the default idle time.
If you have set a password for the local account or you are using a Microsoft account to log in to Windows 10, you can check the On reset box go back to the login screen to force users to enter the password when you return to use the PC.
For all Windows systems, you can also add other advanced settings to the default screen savers using a small program called Winaero Screensavers Tweaker for free.
This application allows you to customize the screensaver registry settings with many more options than the default settings screen.
With this Screensaver Tweaker you can change a wide variety of settings for the predefined screensavers Bubbles, Ribbons, Polygons .
Especially for the Bolle screen saver, a whole series of modifications can be chosen, ranging from transparency, speed and bubble size.
Every time you modify the parameters, you must press on Apply to save the new configuration while to see the preview you have to go back to the screen of choice of the screensaver in Windows 7 or Vista and press on " Try ".
If you want to go back and restore the original screensavers, you can press the " reset to defaults " button on the Tweaker.
if you want to install other screensavers, you can add them to the selection list of the settings screen by downloading and installing the relative program.
