The Nokia 3310 was better than today's smartphones for 9 reasons

When the Nokia 3310 was released in 2000, the best selling mobile phone was the Nokia 3210, which was a bit bigger, there were no app stores, the internet was in its infancy and everything was simpler.
From 3310 many models emerged that made Nokia the undisputed leader of the mobile market, with over 126 million units sold until 2005.
Everyone in their thirties today can remember how 10 years ago everyone had the compact, durable and perfect Nokia brick cell phone from the 3310 series or similar.
Today Nokia, due to wrong choices and an incapable management, has collapsed under the blows of Google, Samsung and Apple and ended up being sold to Microsoft, which in my opinion will make the historic Finnish company disappear.
After seeing how Nokia are still first in the ranking of best-selling mobiles ever, we see here 9 reasons why a Nokia 3310 could still be better today than the most advanced, expensive and technological smartphone .
Before we start, let's make it clear that the Samsung Galaxy S4, as well as the iPhone, is among the best smartphones that can be bought today, with impressive functions that are a thousand times better than a Nokia 3310.
However, a Nokia 3310 that did not have an internet or even a camera can be considered in some respects even superior to any smartphone.
1) The Nokia 3310 took everywhere
You really had to go to a remote place or under a deep gallery because the cell phone did not take the network, but above all, the thing I remember worked wonderfully, even if a 3310 took with a notch, it could make phone calls as if it were taking in the open field.
Today's smartphones, not all but almost all, take little and badly and if there is not enough field communication is intermittent.
To be honest, most of today's smartphone reception problems derive from 3G (which did not exist at the time of 3310) and, above all, from the transition from 3G to 2G which is poorly managed by many smartphones (and which on the Nokia Symbian 6610 worked wonderfully).
2) You could play on your cell phone with one finger while holding it with one hand, perhaps doing something else.
Games like Candy Crush today require instead to hold the smartphone with one hand and use the other to swipe the screen.
On a 3310 instead Snake II, Pairs II, Space Impact and Bantumi were played using only one hand, in comfort.
3) The case and covers could be changed in a thousand different ways .
It was enough to go to a subway station to find colorful case stalls in different ways for the 3310 mobile phone.
For many smartphones such as the iPhone it is certainly possible to buy personalized covers, but, usually, you can only change the back of the phone.
3) The battery life was almost infinite
With the 3310 the battery lasted even 3 consecutive days and, certainly, after a charge there was no need to worry about it not arriving until the evening.
Those were good times, but today a smartphone if it lasts from morning to evening is a real miracle and you always have to carry a charger with you in order not to risk being without a phone.

This brick could fall 100 times without ever breaking.
Try to do the same with an iPhone 5 or a Samsung Galaxy ...
9) It was much easier to repair
If then a piece of plastic of the brick cellphone broke, it was enough to go to a repair shop to have it replaced, without having to send it for months for assistance.
In some private technician shops you could even replace the broken screen for a few Euros.
