Always On function on Samsung, LG and all Android

Android's Always-On Display feature is not present on all smartphones, but only on some including Samsung Galaxy phones and LG phones.
With this option activated, you can see some information always visible and legible on the screen, such as the time or other things, even when the phone is not in use.
While this Always On Display may be a function to be desired on other mobile phones, those who have a Samsung or LG with this function active may prefer to disable it, to save battery.
First of all, those with a Samsung Galaxy phone, such as the Galaxy S7 or S8, will find the Always-on option turned on by default.
Even if, in reality, it does not drain the battery much, it may still be preferable to disable the option so that the screen remains completely off when not using the smartphone.
To change the Always-on display options, you need to open the Settings menu by pulling down the notification area and touching the gear icon.
On the Galaxy S8, scroll down to the Lock screen and security menu, while on S7 you have to go to the Display menu.
Scroll down both menus until you find the Always On Display option, with a switch to deactivate it or activate it.
If you want to leave it activated, but change its operation, you can touch on the Always On display menu item and then choose what type of screen to display, the clock of a different type or even other information.
It is also possible to change the option by choosing whether to keep the screen always on or to use a timer, so that when you sleep, at night, it does not stay on unnecessarily.
Always On Display, as mentioned, is also an option that can be activated on LG phones, in Settings> Display .
Again you can choose what to show, whether the clock or other type of information.
On other Android phones this option may not be present.
If you like the idea, you can use a special application that brings the Always On function to all Android smartphones .
The best among the apps with this name is Always On Screen which works quite well, although for some phones it can result in a greater battery consumption.
After installation, allow access to notifications and call management.
In the options, activate or deactivate the calendar and the battery indicator in the information to be displayed, then choose the type of watch to be shown and its appearance.
In the behavior options you can also choose a time in which the app must remain suspended and a timer after which the screen must turn off the same.
Note that when the phone is in your pocket, the screen turns off automatically.
if it is not satisfactory, you can try another app, Glance Plus, already described in the past to see info with the screen off on Android: Time, Weather, Battery, Notifications etc.
Finally, don't forget that you can always use the DayDream function on Android as a Screensaver when the phone is charging.
