Perform actions on pc with timer or based on an event

Computers are made to do the operations ordered by those who use it, when you run a command or launch an application. With the computer it is obviously possible to program operations and tasks that are automatically performed at a certain time . All this can be done on Windows using the scheduled task utility found in the control panel or in the administration tools.
However, there are much simpler ways to set a timer or countdown timer to run applications or commands on your computer, using a really useful program for automation. These programs allow you to easily manage each operation to be performed by the computer automatically such as, for example, reproducing a sound at a certain time, programming an alarm clock, starting an automatic scan to clean the hard disk or having the PC shut down by itself and for many other things.
TimeComX is a small free application that can schedule all operations to be performed in a set time, after a certain period has passed or on the basis of a particular event. The actions to be planned can be the launch of an audio file, the execution of a file or program, the block / shutdown / disconnection / of the computer and so on.
There are only two tabs in the TimeComX window; one is the Event tab and the other is the Timesheet. On the Event tab you can check when or after how long to start the activity .
There are four "modes" available: the first two are a simple and an advanced counter or timer that are normal countdowns. Time mode allows you to choose a specific time with date and time when an operation must be performed. The most interesting event, the one that distinguishes TimeComX from other similar programs is the use / activity that allows you to run a command on the computer, based on certain events such as excessive processor use, network usage, or downtime. . It can therefore be used to manage the computer to turn it off by itself if it is not used, to stop the internet if it is downloading too much (in the case of a consumer subscription) or to automatically terminate an open program if the CPU reaches 100%.
Once the correct event has been decided, it must be activated by clicking on the Play button and starting the countdown. At this point you will see a progress bar on the Windows 7 taskbar that allows you to know, by eye, how much time is left.
After choosing the trigger event, you need to configure the task to be performed, from the tasks tab. These activities include restarting, shutting down, sleeping, hibernating, locking the computer and logging off. In addition to this you can also run any file such as, for example, a text file on which a memo or a download from UTorrent is written. As an additional option there is the possibility to make the computer play with a music or an audio file that can be perfect to wake up.
TimeComX, besides being very functional, is very easy to use. The program takes up very few system resources and can be minimized in the Windows taskbar so as to make it invisible. Passwords can be locked in case you want to limit the use of your computer or the internet.
Obviously there are many programs similar to this, one of them, Z-Cron, I talked about it in the article on the timer to start programs at a set time.
Regarding the automatic shutdown and the sleep-timer then I had dedicated a specific guide.
