How to track parcels from China, the USA or other countries

More and more products are shipped from China or other foreign countries when we buy on Amazon or eBay, not to mention sites specializing in the sale of Chinese products such as Wish and Aliexpress.
These sites, if we choose tracked shipping, will provide us with a very different tracking code than those obtainable by Italian couriers, since they can hardly be tracked on the sites we are used to using.
In this guide we will help you track parcels from abroad, in particular from China, directing you to websites that can track any international shipment.
We will thus be able to understand where our parcel is even in the case of very long and laborious shipments, find out if it arrived in Italy and if it was blocked by customs during the journey.

When you decide to track an international shipment, you will have to keep in mind that some types of shipping (fast or cheap) may not provide any type of code (exactly like our priority mail): in these cases you cannot use the services listed below to track shipments, but wait patiently for the parcel to arrive at our house (hoping it won't get lost in the meantime!).
For this reason, we always recommend spending some extra money and, if possible, always choose the shipping tracked even when we buy from abroad, so that we can always know where our package is.
1) 17TRACK

One of the best sites we can use to track parcels from China or any other foreign country is 17TRACK.
To use it, simply enter the tracking code in the text field on the site (we can also enter more than one code, each line will be considered as a separate shipment) and when ready, just click on the Track button.
In a few seconds the site will show us the progress of the shipment, also based on the code provided (the site will also take care of translating any errors or outcomes into a foreign language for us).
Currently the site supports over 20, 000 international and national couriers and monitors over 220 countries, so it is extremely difficult that it cannot trace the code we have provided (if so, most likely the package is not yet entered in the courier's computer system or is not traceable).
If we want to monitor our shipments also from smartphones, 17TRACK is available as a convenient app for Android and iOS.
Even in this case it is very simple to track a foreign shipment: enter the code within the field offered by the app (up to 40 shipments), and confirm by clicking on the Track button.
The app will allow us to monitor our shipments from China or any other country at any time; if we also want to receive notifications for each change of state, we will have to register a free account on the site (we can use both the email and the Google or Facebook accounts for the purpose, to speed up registration).
2) Track It

Another very good site to track every type of international shipment is Track It.
To track international shipping, simply enter the tracking code, provided by the seller, in the Shipping number field, then click on the magnifying glass button.
We can leave the other two fields in automatic detection mode, more than enough to track the most common shipments; if we have difficulty tracking our package, we try to enter the country of arrival (in our case Italy ) and indicate, if possible, also the courier used for the shipment.
Another very useful service offered on this site is monitoring the reputation of a seller on Aliexpress, not always verifiable at first glance: we will thus be able to understand if the seller is a scammer or is honest even before concluding the order.
3) Track Chinapost

For parcels from China, local postmen and couriers are often used to deliver parcels to large interchange ports, even before being tracked through the international system.
If your parcel is among those shipped with cheap couriers or with the Chinese postal system, it can be very useful to enter the tracking code on the Track Chinapost website.
To track our parcel, just enter the code in the Input tracking number field, then click on the Start Tracking button to start searching for the shipment.
After a few seconds we will have a response (in English) on our shipment, so that we can understand when we have to wait more time and if the package has already left the Chinese territory.
4) Packlink

Another very convenient service to track shipments from China, with an interface in Italian, is Packlink.
Tracking the parcel is extremely simple with this site: just click on the Shipping Tracking tab, enter the tracking code provided by the Chinese seller or the courier who took charge of our order, then click on the Search button.
The site is specialized for tracking Chinese parcels, thus acting as a sort of "translation filter" to be able to read the results of the shipments communicated on the specialized Chinese sites.
5) Sites of international and national couriers
In addition to the sites that we have reported to you so far, it can be very useful to track directly from the sites of international couriers, so as to obtain direct information from those who are managing our package.
If the name of the courier is known, just enter the tracking code on one of the sites in the following list:
- UPS
- EMS
- China EMS
- China Airmail
- China Post ePacket
- FedEx
- Royal Mail (UK)
To these we can also add the Italian couriers, which can take charge of the package in some circumstances once cleared through customs.
The sites to track international shipments managed by our couriers are the following:
- Italian post
- SDA
- BRT
- GLS
- TNT
