One of the most complete and interesting free programs to make video DVDs is DVDStyler.
With this program we will be able to make a nice DVD Video by choosing the conversion profile, choosing the title and the background of the disc menu and adding, to the various movies, also titles, very beautiful transition effects buttons. Each added graphic element can be modified, so as to personalize it according to our needs (we can choose specific backgrounds for birthdays, holidays etc.). To add the actual videos, simply go to the file explorer sidebar, then choose in the tree chart what to insert in the project. Once everything is organized, we can burn our DVD by clicking on the Write button at the top. In a few seconds we will have our DVD video ready to be used on the most common living room players, at the highest quality available with this optical disc format.
Freemake Video Converter
One of the simplest and most immediate programs to create a video or photo DVD is Freemake Video Converter.
We chose this first because of its enormous simplicity: after having installed it on our computer, we start it and choose the movies or photos to upload, using the Video or Photo buttons, located at the top. All the multimedia material will be added in the central part of the program, with the possibility to choose the order in which they will appear on the disc. Once the videos or photos have been added, click on the button In DVD below, choose a name of your choice for the disc, insert a blank DVD in the burner and press the Burn button. With the basic parameters the program will convert the videos to make them compatible with the DVD and will create a DVD Video, compatible with any player on the market. The program also allows you to add a simple DVD menu, so as to choose the video to start or whether to start playing all the present content.
Free Video to DVD Converter
Another very simple program to use to make a DVD Video with a sequence of the chosen films is Free Video to DVD Converter.
Also in this case the use is very simple: we install the program and start it, then we drag the video files into the interface or we use the Add file button, we set as DVD PAL format and we click on the Create DVD button. The program will start converting the videos to a temporary folder, then proceed to burn the content onto a blank DVD (to be inserted in the burner beforehand). Currently there is nothing faster and more immediate: if we want to immediately create a DVD from videos recorded with a smartphone or digital video camera, we recommend using this simple software to save time.
WinX DVD Author Free
A complete program to create a video DVD starting from the movies on the PC is WinX DVD Author Free.
Once installed, click on Video DVD Author, inside the presentation window, then insert the videos you want to use by clicking on the + shaped button in the lower bar. When ready, click on the forward arrow icon, choose a background image and finally burn the DVD, inserting compatible optical media into the burner. If we have already made complete videos and only need to burn them, we can also use the Convert Video to Vob and DVD Disc Burner tools, present in the program presentation window.
DVD Flick
DVD Flick is a really simple open-source program to use, which also works to convert Divx to DVD. This tool manages almost any video file format and is capable of converting and burning a DVD that can be viewed on any DVD player. Once installed, you can start the program by starting DVD Flick and clicking, in the graphical interface, on the Add title button at the top left. From the resource explorer, locate and select all the video files you want to copy to the DVD to burn. When videos have entered DVD Flick you can move their play order. From the Project Settings menu, select Burning, label the DVD.From this configuration screen, it is better to set the lowest speed and check for disc verification after burning. If you want, from the settings menu, you can add an initial menu screen that opens when you put the DVD in the player, to start specific videos. In the end, you have to click on the Create DVD button to start the video conversion process, whatever format they are, and make the DVD. DVD Flick uses the ImgBurn program to burn the DVD. This operation is rather slow and long, depending on the quantity of the chosen files and the length of the movies.
Other programs to create DVDs
If you prefer to use a paid program to make your personal DVDs, you can use the popular Nero program to convert video files and burn them directly to DVD. In particular, for videos we can focus on Nero Video 2019, available at € 39.95 but with a 30-day free trial, so that we can carefully evaluate the purchase.
Obviously, since it is a program, Nero also offers the best burning software on the market, so that you can immediately create your own DVDs starting from images and videos made with our portable devices. Another excellent non-free program is ConvertXtoDVD, a popular DVD conversion and burning software that also provides a 7-day free trial with which to test the potential of the software before purchase (the cost is € 44.99).
Among the most famous programs to create spectacular DVDs we also mention Roxio Creator NXT 7, a complete suite to convert any type of video and to make DVD and not only in a simple and complete way; the suite is sold at a cost of € 69.99, but for those who often make this type of video it is a decidedly convenient expense.
