How to check margins in Word

To check the margins with Word, all you have to do is open the document to be edited with the office program, then go to the Layout tab and click on the Margins button , present at the top left of the bar as the first icon.

From this retractable window we can select one of the margins already offered by the program (normal, narrow, medium, wide or symmetrical), until we find the spacing that is right for us or that best suits the type of work we are carrying out. The application of spacing on the document is automatic, all we have to do is select the right item and observe the changes applied to the document.
If we wish, we can create custom margins, so that we can have a style of margins suitable for each type of document, to be called up on the fly from the same menu. To customize the margins in Word let's go to the same window seen a little while ago and click on the item Custom margins at the bottom.

In the window that will open we can set the right margins for the text by entering the values, in centimeters, within the various fields ( Upper, Lower, Left, Right, Binding ) and setting other parameters such as Binding Position, Orientation and Number of pages .
Once all the parameters have been changed, we check the preview of the margins in baso, make sure that Whole document is indicated in the Apply to field and finally click OK .
We will now return to the document we were writing, but with all the margins modified as set by us: we will finally have achieved our purpose for the part of the document already written and, in addition, all the subsequent sheets added will already have the margins set.
If in the future we wanted to manually reapply these custom margins, just go to Layout -> Margins and select the item Last custom setting .
You like the margins we created so much that you want to automatically apply them to any document we create with Word ">
From now on, the custom margins will be automatically recalled by Word, replacing the standard parameters configured under Normal .

Are we creating a document horizontally with many pages side by side?

How to check margins in Word Online

A good alternative to the Word program installed on your PC is Word Online, accessible after registration from here -> Microsoft Word Online .
We insert our Microsoft login credentials (also the ones we use on Outlook, for Hotmail, for OneDrive or Xbox Live), open a new document or open one of those present in the cloud, then go to the Layout menu, then click on Margini at the top left.

Again we can choose one of the margins provided by the service, just as we can set our margins by clicking on Custom margins. If we do not have access to any PC with Word, we can therefore always fall back on Word Online to continue writing and apply our custom margins.
