New and important key combinations in Windows 10

Despite the passing of the years, the keyboard for a computer continues to be fundamental and Microsoft knows it well since with each new version of Windows it adds new shortcuts of keys that make the use of the computer faster.
Performing actions on the computer using key combinations can be seen as something by expert geeks while in reality it is something really useful, especially when working with two-handed writing.
Just think how much faster it is to copy and paste using the keyboard instead of the mouse which instead requires numerous clicks.
In this article we find out first what new keyboard shortcuts have been added to Windows 10 and then, to refresh our memory, the guide to other important combinations to be used on Windows 10 PC .
Windows + A
This key combination is used to open the new Windows notification center, useful if you are using apps such as the Email one or the calendar one.
Windows + S
This key combination opens the search box to find programs quickly or to search the internet.
The same result is also obtained by simply pressing the Windows key and starting to write.
Windows + Q
This combination is similar to Windows + S, but allows you to search using the Cortana assistant (if Cortana is disabled, it is the same as Windows + S).
Windows + I
This is not an absolute novelty because it is a key combination already used by Windows 8.1 to quickly open the Settings screen.
In Windows 10 Windows + I launches the Settings application which is somewhat the new Windows 10 Control Panel.
Windows + Ctrl + D
This is the shortcut to use to activate one of the most relevant new functions of Windows 10, that is, it allows you to quickly create a new virtual desktop.
To scroll through the virtual desktops, use the key next to the search box on the taskbar.
Windows + Tab
This keyboard shortcut has always been present in previous versions of Windows, but in Windows 10 it brings to the fore the new Task View, with which you can switch from one virtual desktop to another.
Windows + Ctrl + F4
These keys pressed together close the current virtual desktop (remember that Alt + F4 closes the active window).
Windows + Ctrl + Left or Right arrows
This shortcut is used to quickly switch between virtual desktops without going through the Task view that appears using the Windows + Tab keys.
Windows + Left / Right / Up / Down arrows
With these keys you can move a window to the right or left, expand it or make it smaller.
This feature is an extended version of the same functionality introduced in Windows 7.
Other lesser-known key shortcuts, which were already present also in Windows 7 and 8, to remember also for Windows 10 are:
Ctrl + Shift + N creates a new folder if you are on explorer resources while opening an incognito window.
Windows + R quickly launches the Run command window.
Ctrl + F1 allows you to see or hide the buttons at the top of the windows of folders and other internal Windows programs.
Windows + B allows you to select (with the Enter key) one of the icons on the notification bar
Windows + 1-9 allows you to launch programs on the taskbar from the left; for example, Windows +1 opens the first program after the task view key.
Windows + X is a very important combination of keys of both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 because it is used to open the quick menu that otherwise can be used by right-clicking on the Start button.
Windows + L locks the PC with a password.
Windows + D shows the desktop.
Windows + E launches an explorer window.
Ctrl + Shift + Esc opens the task manager.
Windows + Shift + S allows you to take a screenshot of the desktop by choosing which area to select (while pressing the Stamp button only saves the screenshot of the desktop or pressing it Windows + Stamp only the current window).
All Windows 10 shortcuts are listed on this Microsoft help page.
