Private chat from PC with Tor Messenger

The Tor Project, the organization that develops the famous Tor browser for anonymous web browsing, has officially launched the first beta version of Tor Messenger, an open source and encrypted chat and instant messaging client based on the Tor network .
Tor Messenger is, in fact, a program for chatting with friends on Facebook, Yahoo, Google and other services, which guarantees complete privacy of what you write.
In other words, chatting through Tor Messenger is impossible, thanks to the encryption of the contents of the messages, to be able to spy on them from the outside or intercept.
All conversations with Tor Messenger remain private and with no possibility for anyone, not even the FBI or NSA, to find out what is written there.
The concern that someone might spy on chat conversations is perhaps not so common, but it is something that cannot be ignored.
Everything we write on the internet in a chat like Facebook is recorded on private servers and remains available to the authorities.
In addition, normal chats are not encrypted so, if potentially anyone could, through simple sniffing programs, read every chat conversation.
Tor Messenger instead denies any possibility of this type and it is impossible to trace the server where the messages are saved, just as the Tor Browser prevents visited sites from knowing who we are and where we come from.
The program is based on Mozilla Instantbird and can be downloaded for free on Windows, Mac or Linux computers .
after the download, if the PC blocks the execution of the installation program, press on More information and then on Run anyway .
After installation, the first time you start, you can log in to one of the available chat services.
Once logged in, you can chat securely and anonymously .
The chat services integrated by Tor Messenger are:
- Jabber (XMPP) chat protocol
- IRC (Internet Relay Chat)
- Facebook Chat
- Google Talk
- Twitter
- Yahoo!
Future versions of Tor Messenger will include support for sandboxing (for added security), automatic updates, Twitter messages, encrypted file transfers.
Note that the program is currently in beta phase and suffers from numerous operating bugs.
