Search inside Youtube videos and extract subtitles

Youtube is an unlimited source of information, where you can find tutorials, guides and where many youtubers and videomakers published daily contributions of various types.
Thanks to the subtitle function, each Youtube video can also be read on the screen at the desired speed using the controls at the bottom right of the video, those to change speed and those to see the subtitles, even translated.
Now, thanks to an ingenious extension and an online tool, it is not only possible to extract the subtitles in order to see them as in a written article, but also to search inside so that you can find the point where you are talking about a certain thing, without having to watch the video in full.
Although you can use YouTube search to find videos, search results are limited to matching the titles, descriptions, and other data entered when the video is uploaded to the site.
The search does not take into account the audio that is part of the video, even if subtitles are provided.
The ability to search within YouTube videos can be quite useful at times, to jump directly to the interesting point and also to see the explanation of a guide in the form of written text, to be read.

To search for text within a YouTube video, you can install the Google Chrome Invideo extension for YouTube .
After installing the extension, you can open a video that has subtitles and press the Invideo button that appears below the video, on the right.
The text of the subtitles appears on the right column with a time scale and a search box that can be used to find text inside the video.
The time scale can also be hidden by pressing the button with three dots next to the search box.
By clicking on each row of subtitles, you can jump to the point in the video where those words are pronounced.
If you want to extract the subtitle text of a Youtube video to transform the audio into written words that can be used on a document to be printed, you can simply open the DIYCaptions website and paste the URL of the video to be converted.
Immediately you will get a page with the video text, easy to copy and paste wherever you want.
