Search with Google from Spotlight, Safari and Siri on Mac, iPhone and iPad

The times when Apple was bitter enemy of Microsoft are long gone, today Apple's main opponent is Google, with whom it competes in the rich smartphone market.
So it happens that Apple has replaced Google with Bing as search engine in the Spotlight search box on Mac, iPad and iPhone, in the voice assistant of the iPhone Siri and, in the future, also in the Safari browser.
The big problem is that Bing, from Microsoft, which perhaps also works well in the USA, in Italian searches is terribly poor, much more similar to a search engine of 10 years ago, with results that are always the same and, often, not updated.
It is not only for a question of fashion that Google remains the most used search engine in Italy, it is precisely because it is better at understanding the questions and returning relevant results.
If those who have a Mac or iPhone / iPad find themselves Bing as the default search engine on Spotlight, Siri and Safari, let's see how to go back to Google .
1) Set Google on Siri on iPhone or iPad
Siri is the voice assistant with which you can search the internet.
By default, Siri automatically tries to find the best site to search for, thinking that Bing is better than Google.
To search with Google when using Siri, you must first say the word "Google", followed by the word you want to search for; for example " Google rome restaurants ".
2) Search Google on Spotlight on Mac
The web search function was introduced in Spotlight with the Mac OS X Yosemite version and, unfortunately, it uses Bing without the possibility of changing.
To search with Google from Spotlight you need to install an external plugin called Flashlight which allows you to have a series of additional options, including Google search.
You can then write " g word " to quickly search for Google instead of Bing.
3) As for Spotlight on iOS, the search box that appears by swiping your finger down on the home screen, for now you can still search with Google by typing a word and then touching the " Search the web " button.
If Apple removes this option and forces you to use Bing, you can then search Google only from Safari.
4) On the Safari browser for Mac, Apple has not yet made Bing the default search engine, although it is very likely that it will soon make a change.
In the event that Google is not the default search engine in Safari, you can change the default search engine by clicking on the Safari menu in the top bar, going to Preferences and clicking on the search icon.
5) On the Safari browser of iPhone or iPad you can change the default search engine in the iOS Settings, by touching the Safari category.
On the other browsers of the iPhone or iPad, the search engine is changed from the application settings.
Speaking of iPhone and iPad, it is possible to install the Google app to activate the voice assistant Ok Google and the smart cards of Google Now.
6) Finally, you can start a Google search from any app open on the Mac through the mysterious Services menu.
Just select a piece of text in any application, right click on it, choose Services, and then " Google Search ".
If Services is not displayed in the context menu, try clicking on the application name in the menu above.
