Windows is the operating system that, as the name suggests, bases the management of files and documents with a graphical window interface in which each window is a folder that includes one or more files. In Windows, therefore, the folder or, in English, folder, has replaced the characteristic directory with which a set of files has always been indicated in computer science. Windows windows have evolved a lot over time and, as we have already seen in other articles, today it is possible to navigate on 3D windows and play with them by moving them on the screen and plunging them with mouse strokes.
However, Windows windows have remained a bit sparse in terms of functionality and do not facilitate users used to keeping several windows open to handle numerous files.
Basically, as we mentioned by saying "Every window is a folder", the explorer allows you to view the inside of only one folder at a time and to see two folders together you need to open two windows of " Explorer " or File Explorer
The main lack is the tabbed browsing feature of Internet Explorer or Firefox and the consequent management of the copy and paste often very uncomfortable when it concerns many files. The purpose of this post is to suggest and present two methods that facilitate and speed up navigation on Windows windows by adding many convenient options.

1) FreeCommander is a program to replace Windows Explorer with a browsing of tabbed folders, among the best, even if not the most beautiful to see.
2) Clover instead brings the style of the Chrome browser on Windows windows with navigation tabs and also works very well on Windows 8 and Windows 10.
3) Explore ++ is a free, open source program that works great and can be considered as one of the best file managers for Windows. With its tabbed interface and many built-in functions, Explorer ++ makes moving files fast.
4) QTTabBar, of which I speak in another article, is not a program to replace Windows folders, but a plugin that adds controls on the windows to have many more options available.
5) These tools are still simple and with limited functions therefore, if you want something more integrated and more effective, you can download Double Commander, which provides numerous useful functions to integrate the characteristic Windows Explorer. The tool allows you to open folders in two different panels, each with tabs to be able to move files from one folder to another with absolute simplicity and speed. The folders can be placed side by side and the files inside can be viewed in multiple ways and you can go very deeply on the personalization of the views.
6) An excellent program, new and optimized for Windows 10, is Explorer Commander, a tool that replaces the characteristic file management of Windows, Windows Explorer. 7) Saladin is an excellent modern tabbed file manager that allows you to make contemporary work with multiple folders easier.
8) Better Explorer is the graphical version of the Windows 10 Ribbon menu for folders with all the fast buttons to move between windows and manage files and with tabs, i.e. tabs to explore files and open multiple folders one next to each other to the other as if they were Word or Powerpoint documents. Better Explorer is the latest release in this series of tools, the most beautiful graphically.
9) One of the best programs to manage Windows folders with tabbed browsing and more advanced functions to search for files, start them, move them and manage them, was SE-Explorer, which however has not been updated for several years. SE-Explorer has tabbed browsing between directories and a very convenient and fast file search tool. It also allows you to compare files and highlight the differences between texts, documents and folders.
10) Finally, TidyTabs, an exceptional program that adds tabs not only to Windows folder windows, but also to the windows of any other open program, such as Word, Powerpoint or others.
