App for doing homework: reading, schemes, translations, immediate calculations

The smartphone is not only a playmate or a tool to waste time, but also a very effective personal assistant to help us in the work and in the study.
On this occasion we are going to discover some terrific free applications for iPhone, iPad and Android, very useful for studying as if you had a better schoolmate next to us, in order to be able to finish homework more quickly, without however give up learning.
There are apps for taking notes, for processing texts, for making calculations, for organizing summaries and schematics, for making translations, for making targeted searches and also for marking deadlines and, even, for listening to the reading of a text and studying the lesson without to read.
This is a bit of a sequel and an update of another article with the best apps for school and university on iPhone and Android that I recommend reading first.
1) Realize summary schemes
To fix in mind what you are studying and to have a faster tool to review it is always important to write a summary of what you read or, even better, to create a scheme that recalls the most important concepts.
There are several apps for creating concept and summary maps, including:
- Simplemind Free (Android and iPhone) very easy to use and of which there is a paid version with many more functions;
- Mindomo (Android and iPhone) one of the most popular, with many buttons to create connections between different text bubbles.
- Popplet (only for iPhone and iPad), the most intuitive and easy to use, designed just for the studio, very rich in colors and connection tools, with ample space for customization.
2) Solve mathematical calculations
Searching the math apps stores to solve equations easily the best math apps to solve calculations are several.
The first is Photomath (Android and iPhone), sensational, which allows you to solve math calculations, algebraic expressions, equations and functions simply by framing them with the camera.
The app also shows the troubleshooting steps so you can understand what you're doing.
The second one is Malmath, only for Android, which helps students solve equations and algebra calculations by explaining all the steps.
Mathway (Android and iPhone) is also worth mentioning, a phenomenal application that allows you to scan a calculation written in pen with your own handwriting and solve it on your mobile phone or tablet.

3) Translations
The best app to translate words of another language into Italian is Google Translate (Android and iPhone), which also supports Latin in its options and also works offline.
4) Reading by voice
If you have a digitized text, in ePub format or in PDF format, you can activate the reading aloud of the text as if it came from a human voice.
On an Android smartphone, this function is obtained from the Google Play Books application, already present on each device.
To activate the vocal reading of books and PDFs, you must first activate the Talkback function in Android in Settings> Accessibility, then in Play Books you must enter the application settings and activate the loading of PDFs, the vocal reading and the loud voice quality.
