Every day we are targeted by advertising calls: once they offer us to change the telephone operator, another tell us that we have been extracted to receive a free phone (with a new contract to sign), another that we are among the best customers and we have a reserved offer or they ask us to change the light or gas operator. More and more often these calls come directly to the cell phone, making us waste time and patience so as to be almost impossible to politely decline every proposal. If, as already explained, the only way to block commercial calls to the landline phone is to register in the opposition register, in order not to receive advertising calls on your mobile phone, you must take advantage of an application.
In theory, you can take advantage of the call barring included in the Phone app of an Android smartphone or iPhone, by blacklisting unwanted numbers.
On Android, touch the handset to open the Phone, touch the button at the top right to enter the settings and use the blocked contacts option to add unwanted numbers. If you want more options there are also several applications to block unwanted numbers on Android.
On the iPhone, however, the black list of numbers from which we no longer want to be called is in the iOS Settings, under the Phone entry.
Pressing on Add opens the call log from which to choose the numbers to block.
However, this method is inconvenient for blocking advertising calls because they always come from different numbers.
For this reason, an application that recognizes the number that is calling us and indicates it as an advertiser on the phone screen when it rings or automatically blocks it becomes very useful.
One of the best applications for this job is only available for Android and is called " Should I Answer? ".
This app is linked to a list that is constantly updated by the users themselves, who can report at any time if a number is linked to a commercial or telemarketing service. The list can also be consulted on the internet on the Chistachiamando.it website. The first time the app is launched, it asks for permission to read the phone book and answer calls. After installing it, every time you receive a call from a number that is not in our address book and therefore unknown, the judgment appears on the screen. If this were negative, it means that other users have reported it as aggressive advertising so it is not worth responding to.
If you really want to prevent the phone from ringing these calls, open the application and move to the Blocking Rules to activate the automatic blocking function for the numbers evaluated negatively. In the settings, you can make the app display warnings only for numbers evaluated negatively and not on others. The app also works to block numbers manually and also to not receive anonymous calls.
NOTE : If you receive advertising calls with the anonymous, keep in mind that it is illegal so it is worth answering and telling the operator that he wants to speak to get him attacked immediately.
An app to prevent receiving advertising calls that works on both Android and iPhone is the very popular TrueCaller, which works similarly to " I should answer ", with a more advanced and easy to understand interface. By default, Truecaller does not block any call but reports the judgment for each number not in the directory. In the settings it is possible, with Truecaller, to ask to block completely the calls of the " nuisances ", that is coming from the numbers reported by other users as advertisers, and calls with a private number.
