Antivirus and Android Memory Cleaner with 360 Security

We have already talked about the Chinese company Qihoo in the review of the free 360 antivirus for PC, light and reliable like few others.
Qihoo, which in China offers services similar to those offered to us by Google, has released a version of its antivirus also for Android systems with an app that is permanently in the top ten of the most downloaded applications on the Google Play store.
Since anti-virus is not really indispensable on Android phones, as explained in the guide to antivirus for Android, the Qihoo app also does several other useful things, providing tools for security and privacy and trying to optimize use smartphone apps and resources .
In essence, the 360 Security app is similar to one already described in the past and even more famous, Clean Master, which although not essential and without really doing exceptional things, many users like it for the feeling that it improves the security of the system and improve its performance.
360 Security is therefore, first of all, an antivirus that keeps Android safe from dangerous apps and system vulnerabilities.
The antivirus activates itself by starting the application and remains running in the background, in real time, blocking viruses before they can create problems.
As said many times, Android is a safe system that can be infected with viruses only by downloading apps from outside the Google Play store or, due to fortuitous causes, they will hardly occur.
An antivirus on the mobile phone is therefore needed more for a better feeling of security than for actual utility as it happens for PCs.
Having said that, it is still worth using the 360 Security tool to do an antivirus scan, to find vulnerabilities to be corrected or apps that would be better to uninstall, even if they are not viruses, because they could potentially spread our data externally.
The other two main tools of 360 Security are the booster and the cleaner, both for freeing up memory.
The Booster frees RAM from unused apps and gives the feeling of improving the phone's performance by making it faster.
We have instead explained several times that closing apps in the background on Android is useless, because the Android system is already capable of freeing up the memory that some apps need from apps that are not in use.
The other function, that of cleaning, is instead a useful function to free up space on the fixed memory of the phone which is always little and which is often occupied by unnecessary files.
A bit like what happens on PCs with the Ccleaner program, you can also gain 1.20 GB of memory space by deleting obsolete system files, as happened on my phone in the test made.
360 Security also has three other security features:
- The phone tracker, very nice but superfluous because on Android smartphones it is already included in the Android Device Manager.
- The privacy tool for hiding apps and not letting them use if you don't know the password.
- The call filter and block unwanted numbers .
In conclusion, 360 Security, as well as all apps of this type, give a nice feeling of control on the phone, certainly keep Android safe from viruses and provide useful, even if not indispensable tools.
Personally I will keep it, not active in its real-time antivirus function (it is deactivated in the settings), just to check every now and then the obsolete files and security problems.
