The " My Computer " icon, which in Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 is called "This PC", provides quick access to hard drives or other drives on the computer, which also has links to the main folders of documents, music, videos etc. As you will notice, this Windows visual space is not customizable, in the sense that it is not possible to add links to other folders or programs within it.
However, network folders, cloud services and administration tools can be added to "This PC" or "Computer" .

In several guides I have found it is written how to change and customize Windows Explorer in the "Computer" or "This PC" section by changing the registry keys.
Luckily you can do it all without touching the registry, with a much simpler job, and add shortcuts and shortcuts under the main section of Windows Explorer "Computer" in Windows 7 and in "This PC" of Windows 10 and Windows 8 .
To add quick shortcuts, press the Windows-R keys together, open the Run window and then write % appdata% .
From the folder that opens go to Microsoft> Windows> Network Shortcuts .
If the Network Shortcuts folder does not exist as in Windows 8.1, create a new one by right-clicking on the blank and giving it exactly that name.
All the connections inserted in Network Shortcuts will be visible in " This PC " or in " Computer " together with the hard disks and the main folders, under the " Network paths " section.
I remember that to create a link to a folder just press it with the right button and click "Create link".
This file will then be moved to Network Shortcuts .
Items inside the Control Panel and any executable programs can also be included in this section.
In Windows 10 you can add a network path and create a shortcut to access the folders shared by other PCs on the network or cloud services, simply by opening This PC and then pressing the "Add network path" button at the top.
You can then write the IP address of the computer connected to the network.

Download using the gray button, extract the program folder and choose the executable suitable for your PC.
The program does not install but includes different executable files depending on the type of computer, whether x86 32bit or 64bit and depending on the operating system, for Windows 7 or for Windows 10 and 8.1.
This program allows you to add any shortcut and also to remove the main folders from the "Computer" space of Windows Explorer.
