Widget for Facebook notifications and messages (Android)

Let's put another piece to the goal of having all the functions of Facebook on an Android smartphone without however installing its heavy applications which, as mentioned several times on these pages, are the ones that have the most responsibility in discharging the battery and in the slowness of smartphones. economic.
We have seen, so far, how it is possible to use Facebook from the site opened via browser, also receiving notifications from Chrome.
In addition, thanks to some apps it is also possible to install Facebook with alternative apps, among which there are Facebook Lite and Swipe for Facebook, the best even if paid.
From Swipe, however, comes an accessory app that allows, even without installing the main application, to view all the notifications and messages on the main screen, to always have them under control .
Swipe Facebook is a free app that allows you to view and access Facebook notifications and messages directly from the home screen.
So instead of opening two different applications, namely Facebook and Facebook Messenger, you can simply insert two "Swipe" widgets on the home screen to have both notifications and messages always in view .
The app also offers a single widget to view notifications and messages together, with a button to switch between screens.
In addition, Swipe Widget is completely customizable in appearance, with the possibility of choosing between different graphic themes and also configuring the refresh interval to display new notifications or messages.
You can also disable images (from notifications and messages) in order to save mobile traffic.
After installing the app, you need to open it and access Facebook with login and password and then touch the buttons to recover (fetch) messages and notifications.
Then close the application, press and hold anywhere on the main screen to be able to see the list of widgets and add Swipe's ones.
The "Notifications" widget displays only Facebook notifications while the "Messages" widget shows the messages received by the Messenger, the combined one instead allows you to switch from messages to notifications with a touch.
After placing the widgets you can drag the edges to resize them on the home screen.
To customize the widgets, however, you need to open the Swipe Widget app and access the settings by touching the gear wheel.
You can then set the synchronization frequency, choose the theme and whether or not to hide the images.
In the settings it is very important to choose how to open the notification or message screen when you click on one of them.
In particular, if like me we do not have the Facebook app installed and not even the Messenger, you can set here to open notifications and messages via browser.
As, as known, Facebook from mobile prevents viewing messages from the normal site, the ultra light mobile version is used on the domain mbasic.facebook.com, which I had already mentioned some time ago in the article on all the ways to access Facebook from mobile phone.
Basically, thanks to this widget you can use Facebook without installing the official apps, always keeping under control notifications and private messages.
