Who knows if the future of comics is no longer in the paper you buy at the newsagent's but online, with comics readable directly on the internet browser . Especially in English, there are many web comics around which are comics that can only be read on the internet.
The evolution of web comics are those comics developed with the new web technology, HTML5, which allows you to read animated cartoons and designed with particular visual effects almost like a cartoon.
Marvel already has a web app that turns the Chrome browser into a comic book reader that can be purchased online.
Unfortunately only in English, Marvel makes available some complete and free comics to read online on Chrome.
Although there is almost nothing in Italian, there are still some web comics that are worth reading or, at least look at for their graphic quality in HTML5 .
These are above all really beautiful " Web Comics " prototypes that show the potential of this technology.
1) Soul Reaper is the demo of a vertical scrolling HTML5 book.
From the button at the top right you can stop the automatic scrolling of the vignettes to read using the mouse wheel.
The comics are also read verbally as in a film and everything flows with an impressive graphic quality and animated cartoons with three-dimensional depth.
In the end you can join the Soul Reaper Facebook page to stay updated on upcoming releases.
2) Never Mind The Bullets is instead an interactive comic (it no longer exists).
The vignettes scroll horizontally and are drawn with the parallax effect or with the various overlapping backgrounds that scroll at different speeds, from left to right.
The animations are really beautiful and, even if you don't know English well, it's a pleasure to read and watch.
With a simple movement of the mouse the strip comes alive and the story comes to life.
From the homepage you can also click the Duel your nemesis button to enter edit mode and to be able to create the dialogues of the comic by writing a new story .
In this case the application works well if it is opened with Internet Explorer 9 and allows you to add the comics to the story by writing them as you want.
In the end you can share the comic on social networks.
3) Bifter is a web comic made with Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), which uses HTML5.

4) Disney Web Comics has recently released TRON, the comic book inspired by the famous film, fully animated and beautiful to watch.
Like Never Mind The Bullets, Tron's comic was also made as a demo to demonstrate how well the new web technologies work on IE9.
The graphics are spectacular with a background that moves with the mouse and arrows and immerses the reader in the scene in a way never seen before.
We hope that in the future, other sites of this kind will come out, perhaps with complete comics and maybe also in Italian.
