Latin vocabulary and online version translator (also Google Translate)

Honestly, I'm a little envious; when I went to school, there were no automatic translators on the computer and you had to browse the large Castiglioni-Mariotti vocabulary to search for every single word with the Italian translation. Before the homework in class, and also during, we got ready by buying the translators from the library, hoping that the Latin version was a piece taken from one of these translated books which, obviously, could not all be bought.
Today, however, while Castiglioni Mariotti is available as a paid app for Android and iPhone, high school students can take advantage, not only of the Latin-Italian online vocabulary, but also of complete version translators .
The novelty of these days is the introduction of the translation from Latin into Google Translate .

Curious the way it was introduced in the official Google blog, with a completely Latin text, entitled Veni, Vidi, Verba Verti.
From the official Google Translate page you can copy a Latin version or text to obtain the translation in Italian or English.
The Latin translator works well to search for the meaning of words, although he is less precise in making translations of periods and sentences. The Google Translate translator can of course also be used on Android and iPhone smartphones thanks to the application.
Other websites with online vocabulary of Latin words and phrases are:
- Olivetti's Latin Dictionary contains about 25, 000 words and 5, 000 sentences also with the conjugations of verbs and declensions. You can also search for inflected forms with a specific option in the search field.
- On the Latin.it website there are many translated Latin versions, divided by author (Catullo, Cesare, Cicerone, Ovidio, Petronio, Plauto, Sallustio, Svetonio, Tacito, Nepote and all the classics).
- Among the best sites that provide translators of Latin versions are those dedicated to the school such as Studenti.it which allows you to search for the Latin text to be translated using a search field.
- StudentVille instead has a very large archive of entire versions and texts of all the main Latin authors, with relative translation.
A Latin Italian vocabulary for Android can be downloaded for free thanks to the apps of Scuola electrical and My Latin.
Certainly copying one of these translations, in my opinion, does not bring high marks to school however, if used intelligently, they can become an important aid in understanding and studying the ancient language.
