Check which Windows version and which computer I am using

This is a question that for many may seem stupid, but which in reality is not so trivial to answer, especially if the PC was assembled from the store in which it was bought or even if it was purchased pre-assembled at the mall, but the specification manual has never been read.
Knowing which computer we are using is, among other things, vital information when you go to install software and games and when you need to go talk to a technician for his repair, not to fall from the clouds, not to do the figure of the unwary.
Even without going to know the model of each piece mounted inside, the important things to know about your PC are basically three: what type of architecture does the processor have (whether 32 bit or 64 bit), what type of system operating we are using (whether 32 bit or 64 bit) and the version of Windows, which can be 7, 8 or 10 (and which version of Windows 10), Home or Professional and so on.

To know this basic information on our PC the fastest way is the following:
Open the Start menu from the bottom left button and search for the word Computer .
The search results should show Computer or This PC depending on the Windows version in use.
Right click on This PC or Computer and then go to Properties .
If in doubt or in case of difficulty, go instead to the Windows Control Panel, always searchable from the Start menu, and click the System icon.
The page that opens tells us all about the installed operating system, the processor (32 bit or 64 bit), the installed RAM memory and the type of system (32 bit or 64 bit).
Keep in mind that a PC can have a 64-bit processor, but having installed 32-bit Windows while instead on a PC with a 32-bit processor you can never install 64-bit Windows.
In Windows 10, there is also another way of knowing which computer we are using by going and the version of Windows by opening the PC Settings.
From the Start menu, click the Settings gear icon and then go to System and, on the next screen, to About .
In this case it is also possible to know which version of Windows 10 is installed, which if the PC is updated, to date, should mark the 1809.
Windows 10, in fact, unlike the other editions, is updated by Microsoft every year with a new version and the number 1607 is nothing more than a date, (it means July 2016).
Alternatively, from the Start menu, press on the search bar, write winver.exe and press Enter to bring up the information screen and the indication of the Windows version .
Another quick way of getting information about the computer we are using is via the dos prompt.
From the Start menu, search for the word cmd and run the command prompt.
On the black screen, paste the following command
wmic computersystem get model, name, manufacturer, systemtype
As a result we will have: the brand of the computer, the model number, the name of the PC and the type of system.
With the command:
wmic csproduct get name, vendor, identifyingNumber, version
We can know the brand of the computer manufacturer and the type of PC in use.
This data can be of the " System Serial Number " type in the case of a manually assembled PC, not therefore of a specific brand.
On laptops, the following command tells us the model and brand
wmic computersystem get model
If then you want to have more details on the PC in use, then we can find all the specifications of the computer complete with System Information, a tool included by Microsoft in every Windows system.
The same information, made easier to read, can also be obtained through programs to control the computer hardware and therefore also know details about the video card, the sound card, the motherboard and other internal parts.
