Use Chat on the Youtube app to share videos and messages with friends

Google recently added a new feature to YouTube to make it more interactive with the ability to share videos privately with friends in an internal chat .
Until today, in fact, the Youtube videos that we like could only be shared on social networks or on other messaging apps or, at most, via email which, however, has never been a practical and orderly option.
Now, however, Youtube allows you to share videos with friends while remaining within Youtube itself, without leaving the application.
The sharing of the video becomes in effect a chat within Youtube that allows you to see the videos we like together with friends in a fluid way, without going through other apps, with the possibility to comment in real time on what you see and write messages like in a Whatsapp conversation
To use this feature of the Youtube chat you only need to update the app on Android and iPhone and note, in the main screen, the " Shared " button at the bottom (on the iPhone go to the Activities tab).

The shared tab shows all shared videos and activated chats.
Before you start sharing the video, however, you need to add the contacts to share the video with.
The easiest way to add contacts in the YouTube app is through your Gmail account.
Once touched in the Shared tab, YouTube will show the names of the people who are in our Gmail address book and have linked their YouTube to their account.
Pressing the add button sends the invitation to chat on Youtube.
By clicking on View contacts at the top, you can then send the invitation link to other people, always by email, or search for contacts in the address book, by sending the invitation link via SMS.
To share a video we are watching by touching the share button.
As soon as you touch the share button, the application will show the " Share on YouTube " option along with the "Share a link" option.
Sharing on Youtube will be able to open a real chat conversation within Youtube, with the possibility of sending messages to those people whom you know in contacts, as you would with Whatsapp.
Each video can be shared with one person or even with multiple contacts, effectively opening a group chat in which each person can comment, write and share other videos.
To select multiple contacts, just touch their names.
Once the send button is pressed, YouTube creates a new group with all those contacts chosen as members and each member of the group will be able to see all sent messages and shared videos, as is the case with any other messaging application.
You can share videos with a person who has yet to receive or accept our invitation by tapping one of the names that appear under the word " You may know ".
In this case, the recipient will receive a connection request and only after accepting will he be able to view the video we shared and reply to us in chat.
Once a chat has been started, individually or in a group, it is possible to share other videos inside via the share button which allows you to search for other videos on Youtube.
The new sharing feature in the YouTube app then turns into a real chat that works, at the moment, only on Android smartphones and tablets and on iPhone and iPad.
Unfortunately for Google, I think this new feature, very ambitious and certainly intriguing, arrives very late and that people will hardly start using Youtube to chat.
