Android sync is automatically turned on and off with AutoSync

An Android smartphone uses the internet connection continuously to check if there are new emails, Facebook, Whatsapp or other applications.
This is the data synchronization function, required for many services as well as for Chrome and other Google services.
In the account settings it is possible to disable the synchronization of a specific account or to exclude the synchronization of some services of the same account such as the synchronization of the contacts of Facebook, Gmail or other apps.
In any case, keeping the automatic synchronization option activated for an extended period of time consumes a lot of the battery of the device, and also, to a small extent, the connection data which for consumption plans can become a problem.
It is possible to manually control the synchronization function, but activating and deactivating it manually with the button, even using the energy saving widget included in Android, is decidedly inconvenient.
You can then use the apps to automate Android options and settings, but if the aim is to automate only the synchronization when there is network and when you use the phone, without always keeping it active, there is a tiny and simple app that can help us.
AutoSync has five different predefined conditions under which automatic synchronization is automatically activated on your Android smartphone or tablet .
With AutoSync installed on the device it is not necessary to activate or deactivate the synchronization function manually, because it is automatically controlled according to the chosen condition.
The 5 conditions that can be selected to automatically start the synchronization process on Android are:
- WiFi is connected
- power or WiFi connected
- external power and WiFi are connected
- Manually (default)
- Power supply connected
Choosing the WiFi option is connected and then choosing to disable the wifi automatically when the phone is suspended (option found in the advanced settings of Wifi), you get a decided energy saving when the phone is not in use.
The 3G data connection does not affect Autosync.
Two other options have been added with the latest version of AutoSync :
- one to decide how many minutes synchronization should remain active when it starts.
- the other to set a time interval during which synchronization must always remain active, ideally to be used during working hours.
AutoSync remains running silently in the background and works punctually by notifying Sync activation.
After doing several tests, this is the most useful app to manage synchronization on Android without going through complicated options (especially on devices where JuiceDefender doesn't work).
