Save photos and videos from Instagram on Android and iPhone

Instagram is a gold mine of photos, not only because it is used by millions of users who upload photos and videos every day, but also because it has become the most used platform by photographers, influencers and famous people who always use Instagram to give news of their activities, to advertise and to ingratiate themselves with fans.
There are therefore wonderful photos of beautiful women, beautiful men, dishes and restaurants, landscapes, monuments and special places.
You can therefore appreciate the photos and videos, you can leave comments and have fun browsing the stories that are always full of special images.
When you see a nice photograph, Instagram gives you the option to save it within the account, but it doesn't offer a direct way to download.
So if, browsing Instagram, we find the photo of a beautiful landscape that I would like to use as the background of the phone or the video of some model or some famous actor, or the photo of a special dish that you would like to redo at home or anything else there interested, you can press the bookmark button to save it in a private collection, without its author knowing about it.
However, if you want to download the photo or video to your smartphone, then you need to use an external application .
In this guide we then see how to save Instagram photos and videos from Android and iPhone and also from PC, which is very easy.
Download from Instagram on PC
First of all, as already seen in another article, it is super easy to save from Instagram if we use a PC, without using external programs
Meanwhile, it is possible to open Instagram photos and videos from the official website Instagram.com .
There are also many ways to search and download photos, videos and stories from Instagram on PC without registration, as seen in another article.
To remember one of the simplest methods, we can open the Weinstag website where you just need to paste the URL of the photo or video found on Instagram to download it.
The same site also provides a downloader for the stories, and just write the username of the person who publishes the stories we want to save on the special page //weinstag.com/instastory/ to get the download links.
Save photos and videos from Instagram on Android
To download Instagram photos and videos from a Samsung, Huawei or any other smartphone with Android operating system, there are numerous applications available in the Google Play Store, many of which are very bad and full of advertisements.
The best one to use is FastSave, which is the fastest and easiest to use.
Once the application is installed and opened, you just need to turn on the Fastsave switch to get started.
With the Fastsave switch activated, you can then open the Instagram app, tap the button with three dots located above each photo and video and press Copy Link .
In fully automatic mode, Fastsave starts downloading the photo and video and displays a notification on the Android notification bar.
Touching the notification reopens Fastsave where you can press on MyDownload to review downloaded videos and photos.
Although FastSave includes the video player and photo viewer, it is still best to open them from the Gallery app and the Android video playback app.
The files downloaded from Fastsave are located in the Instasave folder on Android.
While the author of videos and photos will not know anything about these downloads, it is worth noting that, if the intention is to republish them, it is good practice and good manners to quote the original author.
As an alternative to download videos and photos from Instagram for Android we can report Video Downloader for Instagram that works well, in a similar way, by copying the link from the Instagram app and pasting it into the application.
Save from Instagram on iPhone and iPad
For iPhone and iPad apps like Fastsave and Instasave have been banned from the Apple Store or don't work.
However, there is an application that can easily download both photos and videos from Instagram and is called Repost .
To use this application you need to do this:
- open Repost.
- tap the button at the top right to open Instagram.
- In Instagram, touch the button with three dots located at the top right of each photo and video to use the Copy link .
- Then go back to Repost and notice that automatically the photo or video that was copied is displayed by the application.
- At this point still nothing has been downloaded so, to download to the phone memory, you need to open the photo or video from Repost and then touch the button at the top right which has the sharing symbol.
Among the options you can then choose Export to Photos which, in fact, is the one to save the photo or video in the internal memory of the iPhone.
From the Photos app it will then be possible to see the downloaded photo.
