To change the volume on the computer, after setting the volume on the speakers, click on the volume icon at the bottom right near the clock and move the bar. This way of adjusting the volume is rather uncomfortable and especially slow, with several impractical mouse movements when you need to raise or lower the volume quickly and frequently.
To remedy this lack, on any version of Windows, both XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, you can download a small tool that allows you to adjust the volume by turning the mouse wheel when it is moved in particular customizable conditions.
Volumouse is an extremely customizable Nirsoft program that allows you to choose how to use the mouse wheel to change the volume.
The tool is simple to use even if it requires some explanation since it is in English and not exactly intuitive on first use.
After downloading the installer, start the Volumouse setup and then run the program from the Start menu.
Volumouse remains running in the background and shows itself in an icon next to the clock.
To make it work the way we like it, we need to open the main options screen and make a change.
In the column " Use the mouse wheel when ", in the first or second row, you have to scroll the drop-down menu and choose the option " Mouse cursor is over the taskbar ".
Then press on Apply and try to move the mouse cursor on the taskbar at the bottom and then turn the wheel to change the volume .
You may notice that the volume of the computer rises when you turn it up and down when you turn it up.
This can be done at any time and whatever the program is open (unless it is open in full screen), without having to press other buttons.
If you like this solution, so light but efficient, in the program options you have to put a cross where it is written to automatically run Volumouse when you start Windows.
