Try the size of a site at different resolutions and small screens

In this post dedicated to those who create and manage websites, we see a couple of really well made sites that allow you to check the display of a website at various screen resolutions . Today websites are surfed in different ways, with PCs, laptops, cell phones, tablets and with screens of all sizes, from large monitors like televisions to small touch screens.
This means that those who design a site must ensure that it is clearly visible in all terminals and on screens of any resolution.
A site that does not offer content optimized for the most popular devices and that is well legible at all resolutions could lose a lot of visitors.
Among the most popular blog platforms, Blogger allows you to enable the mobile version of each blog while with the WordPress CMS you can use a plugin to automatically create the mobile version.
In any case it is still important to try the resolutions to make sure that the site is displayed correctly on large monitors and small screens .
There are several ways to test size and to see resolution on cell phones.
From Windows you can lower the screen resolution from the control panel menu while for each mobile phone there is an emulator or simulator.
In another article I had written a guide to surf the internet from a pc as if it were a mobile phone.
To do it first and test the size of a site with different screen resolutions and compatibility with mobile phones, you can use the automatic web application Responsivetesttool . This online service allows you to view a specific website in predefined resolutions. Just write the address of the site to check and then choose the resolution by clicking with the mouse. Semi-transparent buttons appear on the left side which change the resolution according to the device used. You can then choose to see a web page choose from or 4 major categories:
- Desktop : to view a site with the screen size of a 10 "netbook up to a monitor of a 24" desktop pc.
- Tablet to check how the site looks if it is opened from an iPad, a Samsung Galaxy or other tablets.
- Mobile brings together the most used mobile phones and smartphones in the world, including iPhone, Blackberry and Google Nexus S with Android.
- Television to view web pages on large screens up to resolution (1920 × 1200).
ScreenFly is a fast application that was worth pointing out for how it works well, fluently and without ever reloading the tested site. An interesting feature of Screenfly is also the ability to detect mobile versions of the sites automatically .
This possibility can be disabled by placing the cross on the No proxy server (disables device switching) option. You can also enable vertical scrolling and rotate the screen.
TestSize, on the other hand, is a dynamic application that allows you to simulate resolutions from that of a mobile phone screen (240X320) to that of a TV (1920X1200).
TestSize works very well and allows you to simulate any size by pressing the + and - keys.
From Google it is possible to use the Resizer tool, very convenient to check how any website or web page is viewed on screens of various sizes, automatically and quickly.
