Programs needed on PC to play any game

We have just installed a new game on our PC but this one does not want to know how to start, it presents strange errors at startup or during the introduction menu "> If games and videos jerky on PC
1) DirectX 9.0c
If the game chosen is a bit old, it uses a graphics engine of a few years ago or it starts but the audio is not heard the error could be generated by the lack of DirectX 9.0c libraries .
These libraries provide the tools to correctly launch the window where the game will run, in addition they provide some important libraries to manage the audio of the games.
The latest versions of DirectX (11 and 12) are integrated into Windows 10, while DirectX 9.0c must be installed manually.
We download the DirectX 9.0c installer from the link here -> DirectX 9.0c End-User Runtime .
Make sure that the Italian language is selected and click on Download ; now we start the installer and click on Next to start the installation procedure of all the missing DirectX components.
At the end we restart the operating system and try to start the game that generated problems: if the error was generated by some missing DirectX 9 library, now the game will start regularly.
DirectX 9.0c cannot be uninstalled from the system once integrated into Windows.
2) Microsoft Visual C ++ Redistributable
For many it may mean nothing, but the Visual C ++ components are indispensable for starting the games programmed to run on Windows .
There are several versions of the Visual C ++ distribution packages, accompanied in the name by the year in which they were released.
Each game could take advantage of a different version of Microsoft Visual C ++ (sometimes even more than one), so the only valid advice is to install all those released by Microsoft from 2005 until 2017, so as to have all the necessary components to run any game for Windows.
Both the 32bit and 64bit packages are available from Microsoft Visual C ++ Redistributable: in the case of a 64bit Windows operating system we will have to install all of them (even the 32bit), in the case of a 32bit operating system only the homonymous packages.
We can download all the Microsoft Visual C + necessary for the games by reading the site guide dedicated to the topic and reachable here -> What is Microsoft Visual C ++ and versions to install.
Make sure to install all versions, otherwise some games may refuse to leave.
3) K-Lite Codec Pack
On some games particular codecs could be used to manage the audio, and their absence in the PC could cause errors or sudden crashes while playing.
If on Windows 8 and Windows 10 this risk has definitely decreased (there are numerous codecs integrated by default in these systems) on Windows 7 you could easily encounter errors due to the lack of audio codecs.
To solve any type of problem we can install (even on Windows 10, it doesn't hurt to have some more codecs!) The K-Lite Codec Pack program, available for free download from here -> K-Lite Codec Pack .

At the end of the download we start the installer and install all the codecs recommended by the program; at the end we restart the operating system.
If the game didn't start due to an audio codec problem, with the installation of this package there should be no more problems.
4) .NET Framework
Another type of program to be installed on the PC to obtain total compatibility with games is the .NET Framework, the development environment created by Microsoft to run a certain type of program.
On Windows 10, the latest version of the .NET Framework is kept and updated (the 4.x at the time of writing), but some games may ask for a previous or specific version of the .NET Framework installed on the computer or an update may have damaged the installation.
We can install all versions of the .NET Framework, uninstall or repair this development environment by reading the guide created on the site and reachable here -> Microsoft .NET Framework, solving installation and uninstallation errors .
5) Daemon Tools Lite
We have a game in ISO format or in another image format but we don't want to burn it "> Daemon Tools Lite .

At the end of the download we start the executable and always click Next to install the program on the PC; we restart the system for the changes to take effect.
The next time you restart, simply double-click on any image file to open it in the Daemon Tools Lite virtual player and access the contents of the disc, as if it had been burned onto an optical medium.
6) Driver Booster
If we have fixed any other component and the game has not yet started, the problem may lie in the drivers installed in the system, in particular the video drivers and the sound card drivers.
Instead of wasting time looking for the right updated driver we can get help from Driver Booster, one of the programs to update the automatically obsolete drivers found on the PC in a few simple clicks.
We can download the program for free from here -> Driver Booster .

After the download we start the executable and confirm all the steps to install this program on the PC; at the first start we will be asked to analyze all the components of the system and, if obsolete drivers are found, the program will allow you to update them all together with a simple click of the mouse.
7) Other programs to play
