Wind offers for the Internet on mobile phones and SIM cards and tariffs

Internet offers from TIM or Vodafone seem too expensive "> Best internet offers for SIM cards that can be recharged on smartphones, tablets, memory sticks and modems
1) Wind network characteristics
Wind is a bit of a low cost operator whose main defect is linked to the lower signal coverage to have fast 3G or 4G internet in the area.
It therefore becomes a good choice if you want to save money and do not pay much attention to the speed of the connection from a mobile phone or a key and are willing to give up the connection in some areas not covered (not that the Wind signal does not arrive to make calls, but that does not 3G or 4G signal is available, essential to navigate and open applications).
With the merger with 3 Italia, coverage has slightly increased, but let's not expect much: coverage is more than good in large cities (where you travel in 4G very frequently, even with a non-exceptional signal) but you just need to move away from large urban centers to touch with your hand the not exceptional coverage of this operator (we will often navigate in 3G, if we are lucky also 4G but the antenna must be very close). So if we decide to focus on Wind, better not to expect too much and be satisfied with the coverage offered, since if we find an area where it takes 4G we can take advantage of the offers listed below by spending very little.
2) Wind offers for mobile phones
The Wind site, going to the Mobile section, allows you to immediately get an overview of the offers available, which are always on offer (even if they want to make them seem timed).
you can therefore have a SIM only internet with these rates:
  • ALL Digital : at € 15 per month we have 40 GB, unlimited minutes to all and unlimited SMS (with a limit of 200 per day). The activation is free, the delivery of the SIM can be made at home or in a Wind center and there are no additional costs or restrictions. The offer can be paid for via credit.
  • ALL INCLUSIVE with Easy Pay : at € 17 per month we have 60 GB, unlimited minutes and SMS to everyone. The activation is free, the delivery of the SIM can be made at home or in a Wind center and there are no additional costs or restrictions. In this case, however, it will be necessary to pay the offer by credit card or bank RID.
  • All Inclusive Young : if we are up to 30 years old, we can have 60 GB for € 12 a month, unlimited minutes to all 200 SMS messages. The activation is free, the delivery of the SIM can be made at home or in a Wind center and there are no additional costs or restrictions.
  • All Inclusive Junior : if we are up to 14 years old we can have 30 GB, 100 minutes and 100 SMS messages to the Wind network for € 7 a month .
  • All Inclusive Senior : if we are over 60, we can have 5 GB for € 10 a month, unlimited minutes to all 200 SMS.
  • Wind Family : for € 8 a month we can have 1500 GB of Internet, to be shared with three other Wind SIM cards to be provided to family members (they will all be tied to a single account) and unlimited minutes to everyone. We can choose to share the Giga up to 3 Family SIM and 4 Rechargeable SIM, which can also be used with the tablet or other devices. We can pay both with the bill (if by email we save on shipping costs) and by credit card or RID. The offers that we can link to Wind Family are available here .

Note that for these offers you can also exceed the traffic threshold without paying additional costs, only that the speed is reduced the very slow connection speed (maximum 128 Kbps). It is also possible to share the internet connection using the smartphone as a hotspot, at no additional cost. If you switch to Wind from another operator, activation is usually in promotion, otherwise, as for those who already have Wind and want to change plans, it costs 15 Euros.
If you buy a new SIM you pay, for the first time, 10 Euros of activation + 10 Euros of SIM card. We are interested in the options only to have mobile internet with Wind (without therefore free minutes), usable by a SIM card from a mobile phone, tablet or USB stick .
If you want to use a USB stick to carry around an internet connection to use with your computer, the offers can be used without problems even on a 4G stick, since the costs are included!
However, it is better to use the smartphone as a hotspot so that the Internet connection is always at hand when we have to do something urgent with the notebook PC.
3) Conclusions
Switching to Wind can be convenient to surf the Internet on your smartphone with advantageous rates, certainly cheaper than those applied by TIM and Vodafone.
Wind therefore remains very convenient (very low compared to the competition), as long as it takes a good signal in the area where we live or where we need to move (if we intend to take advantage of the hotspot, better be careful and check first).
Before moving to Wind, therefore, it is better to check the coverage of the mobile network, bearing in mind that, even if there was GSM coverage, it is not said that there is a 3G or 4G signal (essential for using the internet from smartphones and tablets), what which would be verified by asking friends and relatives not to have problems.
Finally, Wind on your mobile phone can be combined, as already seen, with the ADSL Infostrada for home internet connection .
