Modify Windows 10 and 7 taskbar functions

Starting from XP, passing through Windows 7 and arriving at Windows 10, the taskbar, which in English is called the Taskbar, has always remained the hallmark of the Windows system, with the buttons to open and close the windows, the notification and the Start button to see the list of programs and applications.
To modify the Windows taskbar you have to right click on the Start button and access the properties.
The options, however, are very few therefore, to have a greater possibility of choosing how this taskbar should work, you can use a very small portable tool, which does not require installation, free of charge and which can be installed on Windows 7 and Windows 10 to 32 bit or 64 bit.

7 Taskbar Tweaker offers several options to change the functions of the Windows 7 taskbar .
When you start it, after extracting the .rar file downloaded from the developer's website, the configuration menu opens immediately and summarizes, in a single small screen, everything you can do.
Even if it is in English, it is quite intuitive to understand what can be changed and, starting from the top, we have:
1) By pressing the right mouse button on a bar icon, by default, a start menu appears with specific options (the jumplist).
Instead, you can choose to display the classic right-click context menu that appears by clicking on any Windows icon.
2) By pressing the wheel in the middle on an icon you can choose whether to open a new session of the program or you can make sure that, if it is open, it closes, minimizes or brings it back to the foreground.
3) In the second row there are the options to group and combine the various icons related to the same application.
Interesting is the possibility of being able to mess up groupings on mouse hover.
4) You can finally disable the unnecessary preview of a window on mouseover.
5) Dropping means deciding what happens if you drag a program icon onto the application bar: you can fix it ( pinned ) or you can decide to open the files by dragging them onto the icon fixed on the bar of a specific program.
This function becomes particularly useful if you tend to work with different programs on files of the same type.
6) By right clicking on the empty space of the bar you can open a contextual menu but you can also choose to open the task manager directly, to show the desktop or to show the CTRL-ALt-Tab screen .
The same options are available for the middle mouse wheel.
7) The icons of the programs fixed on the taskbar can be made smaller.
If you like this tool, you can set it, from the Settings menu, with automatic start when the computer is turned on.
The consumption of resources and memory is truly reduced to a minimum so there will be no performance problems.
Finally, with Taskbar Labels it is possible to add labels next to the icons of the programs fixed in the taskbar for quick start.
Always referring to the quick start of programs from the application bar, I recommend reading the article on how to open files, links and folders with custom jumplists.
