Skype is a complete tool with chat, video chat and telephony, which has quickly become one of the most used programs to stay in touch with friends, family and colleagues. Change your profile picture and personal information
To make our Skype account more personal, we can modify the profile picture and add some personal information, so that those looking for our name or nickname will know immediately who to contact. To make these changes, click on the symbol with the three dots at the top left, then go to Settings and then in the Account and profile menu.
From here we can edit all the items that we consider appropriate by clicking on Profile Picture, Skype Name, Email, Location and Birthday Date .
Other information can be changed by clicking on the item Your profile, present in the same window seen a little while ago.
Change the size of the text
Skype text in chat windows has a default size.You can easily make the font in use larger by clicking on the symbol with the three dots at the top left, then clicking on the Settings item and taking us to the Messaging menu, from which we can choose the size of the text from the item of the same name.
Change message theme and schedule
If we want to change the background of the message area and apply a different theme within the program, simply click on the three dots symbol at the top left, go to Settings and change the items in the Appearance menu. If we want to make the conversations we have in chat on Skype more beautiful, we can add one of the elements listed above simply by opening a chat with a contact and clicking on the smiley face symbol (on the left side of the text field) and choose between the categories Emoji, GIF, Sticker and Moji what to use. The chats with our friends will certainly become more beautiful!
Send files
Do we have to send a document or image to our contact on Skype? Nothing could be simpler: we open a chat with the interlocutor to send the file to, then click on the Add file icon to be able to select the file to be sent from the management of our computer.
Schedule a call or create a survey
Do we want to schedule a call to the office or to a colleague? Do you want to carry out a survey in the group of contacts that we have made? Skype has made it easy to take advantage of these two features: we open the chat with the predestined contact or the group in which to enter the contact and we use one of the two buttons Schedule a call or Create survey, present on the right side of the text field. In both cases our interlocutors will receive a notification on their Skype (also from mobile), so they will know about the schedule or survey just created.
Get a Skype number or add credits
Do we want to receive calls on Skype as if we had a landline phone? Do we also want to call landline or mobile numbers? In these two cases we will have to take advantage of some hidden Skype features in order to expand the service. Click on the symbol with the three dots at the top left, select Settings and go to the Account and profile menu. From this menu we click on Add funds in the Skype to phones section or on Buy in the Skype number section, so that we can expand the telephone features of our account, especially useful in the workplace.

Leave a video message for unavailable users
Is a colleague or friend unavailable online at that precise moment? We can also leave them a video message, which they will be able to see as soon as they return online. To take advantage of this feature, simply open the friend's chat (even if it is not online), then click on the Video message button, so you can start recording a small video with audio of a few seconds.
The message will be notified and displayed as soon as the other party goes back online.
Share the screen
If we want to show some steps of a procedure to our friends live on Skype or at a business conference, we can share our screen so as to show all the windows open up to that moment.
To share the screen, we start a video call with one or more people, then click the Share screen button below. If we have an Android phone or iPad, we can share the screen by clicking on the button with the three dots and selecting the Share screen button. In order for it to work properly, we recommend keeping Skype up to date on all devices and taking advantage of a sufficiently fast connection (4G or Wi-Fi).
