To find photos and images on the internet the most used site is Google Images which quickly finds photos and images in relation to a word entered in the search field. If the search for Google images, until some time ago, was really limited and uncomfortable, with the obligation of having to browse the sites that host them, after the recent update of July it has become absolutely effective and pleasant to look at.
The new design, as you may have noticed, in fact allows you to preview the images with just the passage of the mouse, without necessarily having to open the site where they are.
If Google Images all know it, it is important to know that there are several other search engines that find images and photos even with multiple filters, according to different criteria and references, and also in sites on which Google cannot get to the bottom.
One of these criteria can be the search for photos and images by color, looking for them only in black and white or based on the orientation of the photo or even if it is a photograph or an illustration.
Google image search has, among the advanced options, the choice of the color of the photo or image, the choice of dimensions and some filters for faces, photos, drawings and clipart.
You can therefore find black and white photos or, for example by looking for the word dog, you can choose to see images of dogs with different colors.
This time, however, as mentioned before, Google is not the best there is and, if you want more imagination, you have to go to other sites.
It must also be considered that Google does not like Flickr (by Yahoo), the best site for downloading and sharing images.
I found better different sites to search for images according to many criteria and filters, for panoramic images, in black and white or, if you prefer, where there is a specific dominant color over the others and according to specific themes.
1) Yahoo Image Search is the official Flickr search engine and has several options that the Flickr portal does not have.
From the advanced search you can set the color of the images (black and white) and the site to search for, then Flickr.
It is also possible to set the search filter only for images available for online distribution (unprotected) but this is also done by Google.
After the recent update, Yahoo Search Image has also become the best site to search for photos on Facebook and browse those of friends.
2) Pinterest is the true leader in image search and online photo sharing.
Pinterest, a real Twitter for images, allows you to find photographs from websites, Flickr and many other specialized sites, for different themes: Weddings, cuisine, animals, technology, fashion, fashion, makeup and many other channels for boys and girls.
3) Instagram is the application for iPhone and Android to publish photos online from smartphones.

6) Multicolr is a search engine for images uploaded to Flickr (one of the best portals for organizing online photo collections) that allows you to search only by color .
To see the photograph in black and white, all you need is to choose the colors of the last row but you can also see photographs with other specific colors and find images that contain only some of them.
7) Image Bing Search is the Microsoft image search engine.
Yahoo and Bing therefore beat Google on the images, perhaps this will amaze someone but it is so.
There are a lot of search options on Bing including:
Search by size (small, medium, large, wallpaper);
Search by layout (square, long, wide);
Search for style (photography or illustration);
and filters to find only photos of faces or half-lengths (head and shoulders).

8) Picsearch is another great alternative image search engine to keep as a favorite.
It is not that it has extraordinary or particularly advanced options, however, it provides search results totally different from others such as Google or Yahoo.
Picsearch uses its own search index, with proprietary web scanning technology and has created an index of images and photos.
The best features of PicSearch are the filters that allow children to navigate between images, without any risk of seeing offensive, violent or adult material.
The site is also very easy to use, because it has been designed to be simple, quick and precise.
In addition to the search for black and white photography, the tool offers some other features such as filtering by size, by type (horizontal and vertical) and with search suggestions.
